worst acting ever, way to heavy christian overtones.. . come on, the mayans worshipping jesus on the cross? and whats with earth lining up with the black hole at the center of the milkyway, if its at the center, doesnt earth always line up with it? anywho, terrible movie, terrible acting, terrible storyline, terrible logic...
DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS FILM
Seconded on all points.
"This proves that Christians were here 300 years before Columbus" - total bullshit, plus LFJ (Lying For Yeshua Ben Miriam "Jesus") is still lying.
Earth lining up with the black hole at the center of the milky way will happen exactly on 21 December 2012 is absolutely true.
What these fundie spreaders of ignorance fail to tell you is that this event occurs on 21 December EVERY YEAR.
The inertia from the earth stopping would destroy every man-made structure on earth as well as flattening a few mountain ranges, then when the earth's rotation restarts, you get the same again.
Fundies love to portray scientists desperately running around like headless chickens, and themselves nodding in self-satisfaction that all the answers can be found in a collection of bronze age goat-sodomisers fairy tales.
Finally - I doubt that very few people have even bothered to ask the Mayans what happens when their calendar ends, but the reply given in a interview on the BBC World Service recently by a Mayan chief was as follows "What happens when YOUR calendar runs out? You get a new one!"
BTW, the Mayan calender that everyone is going orbital over, will fit in the palm of your hand.
The main reason why thier calendar "stops" is that the christian priests who came over with Cortez, destroyed all of the "pagan" documents they could lay their grubby little hands on.
Think about it - digital watches, VCR's, DVD's, PC's etc - ALL have built-in calendars which expire in 2030, 2043 or whatever, depending on whether the chip is 8, 16, 32 or 64 bit.
I weep for the electrons that were wasted in the making of this catastrophe.
