3x08 - From Fear To Eternity (...)
Whoo! Mid-season finale. My thoughts.
LovedLOVEDLOVED the whole S.A.R.A. turning on Zoe thing. Not as much as in the other episode (from season 1, where she REALLY turned psycho-killer with her uber-awesome deathly lasers and whatnot. What eppy was that, I can't remember...). Great times. As soon as Zoe mentioned that she's been feeling tired and woozy I thought: oh-oh. She's preggers. Daddy is going to go apeshit and finally off the boring-why-did-they-introduce-him-in-the-first-place-go-die-genious boyfriend. Yes. I hate Lucas.
Moving on.
Jo&Zane: *sigh* this is so boring. I'm a girl, and therfore girls+onscreen romances=awesome!aww!Iwanttocuddlethings. But not in this case.
I love Zane's character. He's the geeky bad-boy. Lupo = cool ass-kicking power chick. But this 'relationship' is so boring. It's like they've skipped the whole drama of dating and went straight from first date to comfortable-old-marriage. When did they have their first kiss? Did they even have one? I can't remember. *sigh*
When Jo shut him out because he froze I was like: Yeah! Drama! And then the cement-thingy was funny. But then he had to go and screw things up by making up. Ugh. Back to boring old couple again. I really think they should introduce them to the new love interests. Zane and Jo just don't do it for me. They've (
writers) totally ruined the best from both individuals by pairing them up. Lupo is tamed, Zane just plain geeky. Where's the fire? Where's the spunk? Where's the mischief? I miss that.
Eva: I KNEW IT! I knew she was one of The Founders. But I was a bit off. I thought that one of the bodies was that of her husband - but brother? Don't really know where that came from, but OK. I am willing to go with it. The bomb being almost done was a bit too convinient - but I guess they had to wrap the episode somehow. Still, that didn't sit well with me.
Zane:
"Give me a couple of hours and I will have it up and running" line had me

. I know he's a genious, but 70+ year old
prototype of a bomb ready to use in a couple of hours? That was a bit of a stretch - even for Eureka standards.
Allison: Whoo! Preggers with mini!Nate. Unexpected. But in a good way. I wonder how Carter is going to cope with that.
Carter: Nothing but praise. I love every single line that comes out of that man's mouth. His delivery is spot on too. One of the best-written characters I've seen in a while. Kudos to the writers who come up with the stuff he spews. I am ROTFL every episode. But they fired him! WTF? Unexpected yet again.
In summary: I liked it. I'm not totally over the moon, but I've seen worse. Can't wait for the next eppy. It'll probably air sometime next year, knowing Sci-Fi. *sigh* Whoever thought that it'll be good for the show if they split the season in two, is a raging idiot.
