NEW REQUEST FORUM http://ipb.quicksilverscreen.com/index.php?showforum=110

V-Divx is no more I'm afraid people, we are in the process of removing the links, u guys will be the first to know when we get a fix.

Vreel is fully open now, although they have introduced speed caps for free users angry.gif, but we be pirates! for info on how to dl from Vreel at full speed read here. Many thx to Greeniz for this little trick smile.gif - Seems to be streaming full speed for free users now smile.gif

Supernova have recently started streaming Divx again, speeds so far seem to excellant, lets hope it lasts.

Donogohave sorted out their servers since the hammering they received after the SN move, great speeds. We are in the process of converting all SN links, but if u guys see any plz let us know.

Setvid and hostmedia have ceased operations due to monetary constraints sad.gif

flyupload is back online smile.gif lets see if they stay online!

StageVu's new servers seem to be doing the trick finally smile.gif I have to say the speeds are acceptable now (when the US is not online).

good point, disabling javascript works just fine.
For Firefox users, just click Tools menu, go to Options, click the Content tab, and uncheck the box that says 'Enable JavaScript'

as well for firefox users there is an addon that i have been using for about 2 years and it is great, it's called noscript and i suggest it to everyone

https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/722

here is a video that will show you how to install and use it. it is the best ff addon i can think of . read the comments below the video as well, it may help you make up your mind to use it

remember to re-enable your java script when you intend on posting in here or downloading from Veoh, without Script enabled you will be unable to click certain areas on a web page. I strongly discourage anyone from installing Zango, it is highly intrusive, and extremely difficult to remove everything it plants on your system. Mr.Brownee, i dont know how you deal with it?!BTW, Advanced System Cleaner v1.8.1 has a great program bundled within it called
Smart Uninstaller, for those who wish to remove Zango from their system really oughta use this or a program similar to make sure everything Zango has touched will go Bye-Bye. P.S, Uncle Bulgaria, thanks for the hug, just please, no kisses!!! laugh.gif

Just so everybody knows this is what you need to block with your AdBlockPlus filter.

CODE

If you do that you don't have to turn off java and you won't ever see the zango popup.

Thanks for the AdBlockPlus filter info, I was going to ask you but there it is smile.gif

If you're using FF, here's instructions to disable javascript http://ipb.quicksilverscreen.com/index.php...st&p=456383
OR
You can install the FF add-on AdBlockPlus and sadeyesbleeding posted the filter needed to block Zango here: http://ipb.quicksilverscreen.com/index.php...st&p=456885
This option means you can leave javascript enabled

Edit: They've switched from mandatory install to optional install so you can click cancel and still view the video. This also means the filter needed for AdBlockPlus has changed, here the new filter:

so u just link from it? when it goes dead, u'res goes dead....

MovieAlien used to popup zango install ads before it shut down. To bypass them I just modified my hosts file. This is not for people who don't know about the hosts file.

<windows dir>\system32\drivers\etc\hosts

I added all of the following even though I probably didn't need to. Figured it was better safe then sorry.

127.0.0.1 powered-by.zango.com
127.0.0.1 zangocash.com
127.0.0.1 prompt.zangocash.com
127.0.0.1 static.zangocash.com
127.0.0.1 public.zangocash.com

Haven't ever had a zango pop-up since then.

Official news from Uploadline from the homepage:
It has come to our attention that uploading large files isnt possible, we are fixing the problem hopefully by tomorrow you will be able to upload up to 1gb.

There upload used to work, i uploaded over 30 movies for my website which i shouldn't mention starts with m ends with u.com im going to upload more movies and il let everyone know when there upload system works again there speeds are fast and what iv heard from the development team *which im a part of* they are adding 3 more servers to the system all high end connections but some users tried cheating the system with embedding the videos on there own site thats going to be fixed too as the links will only work with the ip who visited the download page so the videos will be much faster although there isnt any speed issues at the moment.

Hopefully this will be fixed or a way around it will be found soon... I know I'm looking into it, that'll drive me insane after a while. (see edit)

Edit: If you do not want to update, right-click the divx web player, and at the bottom of the 1st tab (General) there is an Auto Update section. In the drop down list box, select 'Once a month' and click OK. I got the notification the next time I loaded a page with the web player on it, but that was the last time.

So, I was on a journey across the internet and I stumbled upon this site:

http://www.vureel.com/

It's kind of slow for me right now, but maybe it kicks back up during mid-day or something. I got this message when I went to the upload section, though:

"We are adding more servers to our network, uploads are disabled in the meantime, growth has its costs sad.gif" So... I don't know. Maybe it has potential. I'll keep an eye on it.

I found Heat. Lol. http://www.vureel.com/divx/913

Here's a little info you might find useful regarding Vreel's recent speed reduction for free users as well as the inability to download from Vreel using FF + Download Helper:

I tested a link and while I can stream a file with little to no buffering issues, it's just barely. After about a minute of streaming I had around 14mb of the file downloaded.
Also, it appears that using FF + Download Helper or copying the link from the source code to use for downloading doesn't work, you just end up with a file that's a few hundred kb in size. The reason it doesn't work is because you're trying to connect and download directly from the CDN (edgecast), which isn't allowed. So I tried using a download manager, Flashget is what I have, and not only did it work to download but it also gave me full speed. See the screenshots:

First, get the download link... either copy the link from the source code, or if using FF + Download Helper then Ctrl+Left-click the download helper link to copy to the clipboard. Then open Flashget and click the New button and it already has the link from the clipboard in the 1st box labeled URL.
Notice the red box, this is the trick to getting the download to work, you need to copy and paste the url of the Vreel page into the Referrer box. Then click the OK button and the download starts.

Now see the info highlighted in the red box and compare to my previous statement of downloading 14mb in 1 min. As you can see I was able to download 52mb in the same amount of time using Flashget.

Vreel announced they would be providing download links soon, but this should work till then and help with the speed issue.
SEB
Nice greeniz. I notice VideoDownloadHelper didn't work and I found this lil work around as well....

If you have AdBlockPlus you can right click on the "block" tab and choose save link as.

It didn't give me full speed but it's fast enough.

QUOTE(Uncle B @ Dec 11 2008, 09:54 PM) *
Didn't work for me Greeniz sad.gif

I can still dl off them, i use no-script add-on, i can dl direct from the player, but i'm still getting the restricted speeds.

Yeah I get the restricted speed from the player too, that's what I was referring to when I said I only got 14mb in 1 min of streaming/downloading.
Only when I download using Flashget did I get the full speed, so it doesn't help with streaming speed unfortunately, but if it's loading too slow to stream in real time you might as well download.

Nice find as well... I just tried a link and I got about the same speed as in your pic using that method, then tried the same one with Flashget and was getting 750Kb/s or higher.
So flashget might be the way to go for those with slower connections, but yeah 270Kb/s is fast enough.
SEB
Also I just tried your method greeniz and I indeed am getting fullspeed on that same file.

It went from being a 44 minute download to being a 10 minute download. Bravo greeniz. Bravo.

It was easy grabbing the download link from AdBlockPlus by right clicking the "block tab" and choosing "copy link location". Easier than going through source code anyways.

This might be worth some testing on other hosts.

When using the link off No-script it works! when i tried using the link off the source it was a no-go, thx guys full speed dl's again smile.gif

Just have one quick question, i noticed several of the stage vu movies are reencoded i guess so the filesizes are around 450 mb, is this the choice of the uploader or some size limit by stage vu?
I pretty much download the movies so i can burn them on dvd, so this smaller size (low quality) kinda defeats the purpose of divx.
Anyone?

Inaccurately Titled or Categorized Videos

QUOTE
Hello everyone,

It was previously brought to our attention that many videos uploaded to this site were uploaded in bad faith, to be used only for embedding. In this sense, these videos were uploaded:

- With inaccurate or incomplete names
- Labelled with misleading category classifications
- In short, uploaded so that they would be all but inaccessible and impossible to find using our regular search functions.

Stagevu is a video sharing site, not a video hosting website. The purpose of uploading a video to Stagevu is to share it in the world, not to hide it in an obscure corner of the internet. As a result, Stagevu will now be removing all inaccurately labelled or categorized videos, starting this Saturday.

If your videos are miscategorized or have bad titles that do not reflect the underlying content, you can edit your videos' information by going to My Videos and changing their titles and categories. Do not put part of the title in the description, and avoid all unnecessary punctuation in the title. Viewers should be able to figure out the specific nature of the clip by looking at just the title.

Thanks for your cooperation, everyone, and we hope to make the Stagevu experience better for everyone.

Edit{/b]: Due to us being busy with other things, we have delayed the maintenance to [b]Wednesday of next week. Prior to that, we will send a warning email to all individuals identified with such videos.

Significant Back-end Changes
Hey everyone,

We used to have this really annoying backend system where a lot of temporary links were created in order to prevent hotlinking. No more! Now, videos will work much more reliably, and video pages will also load quicker.

Now, although this is a great development, there may be a few kinks in the system that still have to be worked out. So, if you find any bugs, please feel free to post them in our Error Reports forum.

Well if they follow through with their claim, it means we'll have some cleaning out to do (provided the users who uploaded those and named them inaccurately doesn't edit them prior to stagevu taking action) I edited the names of the few I have to the correct names.

Are you using Firefox + Adblock Plus and getting stuck on the loading animation?
They've changed their page so that it loads a javascript from spotxchange to load an ad and then load the video/player.
The following filter in Adblock is what's blocking it:
CODE
/search.spotxchange.com/*

You can either disable that filter, or disable Adblock Plus on Donogo, or add exception filters, here's the 2 exceptions I added:
CODE
http://search.spotxchange.com/js/spotx.js
http://search.spotxchange.com/ad_code/ad.js?cookie_me=true*

I sometimes have to refresh the page once to get the player/video to load.

If that's not the case then start a Help topic and provide a little more detail and we'll see what we can do.
