WWE Creative Reportedly Pitching Ideas for a Kurt Angle Return
12/04/2008 by Nick Paglino

The Wrestling Observer is reporting that WWE creative has begun brainstorming return scenarios in the event that Kurt Angle decides to return to the company when his TNA contract expires next September. It should be noted that these meetings are simply preliminary, and that no concrete decisions have been made by Kurt Angle in any way. WWE officials were surprised when Angle recently did a shoot interview speaking highly of WWE and even Triple H, which gave them the feeling that he may be more willing to return to the company than people had originally thought.

If Angle does return to WWE, we would most likely see him work a lighter schedule similar to what Shawn Michaels works, where he would appear on TV tapings, PPV's and the occasional house show. It should be noted that although WWE would most likely bring Kurt back into the company if he wanted to return, there are those backstage who feel bringing him back would be a mistake as his departure to TNA two years ago was marred by controversy and his physical condition was a serious concern.

"DAMN" Moment of the Year

* Khali Kiss Cam (Smackdown, Nov. 7)
* Jim Ross in sailor suit (Smackdown, Oct. 31)
* CM Punk disguised in Mariachi Bands, lays out Chavo Guerrero (ECW, Jan. 29)
* Santino Marella attempts Melina's Entrance (RAW, Dec. 1)

I think santino will be getting this one!

i want to see angle back, and yeah santino will get that one...
nightingales
i havent laughed that hard in awhile with santino.......i really dunno about angle. id have to think about that one a little more
Schizo
god no! i hope angle does not come back.. why do they need him anyway? they've done fine without him!
plus i doubt he will decide to come back.. very unlikely
nightingales
i think id have to agree with that now. his health above all else is the most important thing (even though the reports going around are saying that if he ever did, he could very well get the same kind of deal that michaels has, working only tv and PPV, and MAYBE a house show once in a blue moon), but i dont see it either. he certainly doesnt need the money unless theres something i dont know about, so aside from that, theres no reason for him TO go back...
BigScott2791
well angle has stated that he wants to try UFC/MMA. Thats seemingly part of the reason he does a lot of training with Frank Trigg. I think it was actually in the DVD that TNA are releasing on angle. One of the clips said that he hopes to do UFC before he retires.
Schizo
im opening back this thread as everyone seems pissed because we tryed out something new.. obviously its not working so lets just leave it ok??

my thoughts on this subject are done .

its all good
BigScott2791
i dont mean any disrespect but its just that we are so used to the setup by now and dont really want it to change. i know you guys all did it with good intentions in mind and that we have to thank you because at least you guys were trying to improve the section. you guys do a great job around here keeping things in shape and i think a "hats off" to the mods is needed.

dont fix what is not broken....

everything was/is fine the way it was/is. im sure everything was done in the best of heart but why do all this, lets just keep it simple again on this thread

Can't really comment on anything yet guys as I've got to spend the day catching up on about 20 hours of wrestling, I swear to god! Looks like everything is pretty much back to normal here.......great!

I see no links were provided for the last TNA PPV last Sunday, well have to make sure that never happens again!!! I figured somebody would post some in my absence but none were. Sorry to see that, I'll make sure it doesn't happen again as I feel the community was let down by that, and we don't want that.....at least I don't.

Hopefully by tomorrow I'll be caught up on everything and can get back into full swing. Missed ya guys!!!! emoticon-0105-wink.gif

I'm going to start getting caught up now, see ya soon!!!

In the latest Guinness Book of World Records they have a pointless fact involving the WWE. They stated that the most men to ever compete in a WWE Royal Rumble Match was 30, which happened in 2008.

eh..? yeah...

also i dunno if anyone noticed but they gave away the Armageddon match finish by having Cena holding up the title in the commercial for the Tribute to the Troops...

- The word going around WWE over the past 24 hours is that former WWE Women’s Champion Victoria (Lisa Marie Varon) is planning on retiring from wrestling shortly, meaning she would be leaving WWE as a performer. There was a rumor over the Survivor Series weekend that she had given notice to WWE officials but we can’t confirm that.

Victoria has been with WWE since 2002 and is currently involved in several projects outside of wrestling in the Louisville, Kentucky area where she lives including her own custom body shop for cars.

This sucks!!! I do hope she gets the belt at least one more time before she goes.

Word is coming in about a major backstage altercation that took place while the WWE crew was overseas in Iraq for Tribute to the Troops. Former ECW personality and WWE.com writer Joey Styles punched out former WWE Champion John Bradshaw Layfield, busting him open under the eye.

JBL is one of the senior members of the WWE lockerroom and has a reputation for being somewhat of a bully. According to several sources, JBL picked out Joey Styles to be the target of his hazing during the Iraq tour. JBL was messing with Styles all week, including calling him condescending names in front of other WWE employees and spilling a drink on him intentionally.

After a few days of abuse, Joey Styles had enough abuse and confronted JBL, who had been drinking at the time. The altercation turned physical and Styles dropped JBL with a punch to the face. Several wrestlers had to step in and break it up.

At last night’s RAW tapings, JBL was unusually quiet while Styles tried to play down the incident and did not want to talk about it. While some companies would fire an employee for an incident like this, there are actually some people within the company that feel Styles standing up for himself might actually score him some points with Vince McMahon.

I like the storyline. I want to see how far it goes. It is a unique storyline on WWE. After seeing HBK give his Slammy to JBL for match of the year, I screamed, but whatever deal they have seems quite crucial for HBK. This is going to be something for sure.

TNA PPV

Does anyone else think they could be firing curryman so they can bring back christopher daniels. That could be an addition to the frontline later in the storyline. As for LAX i hope Hernandez gets the World title shot and homicide gets the x-division shot. Thats the only way i see it turning out because i dont think they will break up LAX because they attract a different demographic.

a bit long.....but nonetheless, an update on "big mouth" DH Smith:

QUOTE
Following recent comments from the one and only Vince McMahon, DH Smith is pretty much a lock to return to the main WWE roster in the near future.

Smith, as well as tag team partner TJ Wilson, are scheduled to be called up to the SmackDown roster very soon. Upon their call-up, the two will be paired up with WWE Diva and long-time friend Natalya. The act worked a dark match prior to last week's set of SmackDown tapings, losing to WWE Tag Team Champions Carlito and Primo. Their eventual call-up all stems from a situation that occurred two months ago.

During a flight home to Connecticut, Vince McMahon was in a bad mood due to what he considered to be a bad week of television tapings. McMahon looked over a sheet of paper listing the entire roster -- including developmental talents down in Florida Championship Wrestling. McMahon saw the name Harry Smith, and railed on the creative team for letting this "Pedigree kid" sit on the sidelines. McMahon called Smith a "Pedigree kid" because he's linked to the legendary Hart family and people from wrestling families are always favored (which explains why so many of them have landed developmental contracts despite little to no prior wrestling experience). Well, McMahon went on and on about the creative team letting good, young talent such as Harry Smith waste away or get jobbed out.

Following McMahon's rant, Smith & Wilson were put together as a team in Florida to get them on track for their eventual call-up to the main roster.

In what was likely a first, Smith was actually called to the main WWE roster in late 2007 as a result of a failed drug test (he failed for the anabolic steroid Stanozolol, which is commonly sold under the name Winstrol). Following the Signature Pharmacy drug scandal, WWE said they were going to start publicly announcing all future WWE drug suspensions on November 1, 2007. As luck would have it for WWE, a week or two following the announcement, Smith failed his drug test. WWE held off his suspension for several weeks so they would have a main roster wrestler to announce to the public once the provision went into effect. At the time, Smith was still in developmental, so they could have quietly suspended him, or wait until November 1st, but he would have been a minor league wrestler at the time and his suspension would have likely been ignored by the media. WWE decided to call up Smith and give him a push right off the bat. He debuted on television in mid-October, got two straight wins, and was suspended two weeks later. This was to show everyone that wrestlers "getting pushed" could be suspended too.

Someone in NBC (possibly Dick Ebersol) contacted Hulk Hogan about doing the WWE Tribute to the Troops show. The feeling at NBC was that the last primetime show, which was the Saturday Night's Main Event with Jenny McCarthy, did so poorly (1.37 broadcast rating) that they need Hogan. Hogan turned down the trip, saying that he didn't want to be away from Nick this soon after Nick was released from prison. Also, if he did go on the trip, Nick would not be able to travel on the trip since he's not allowed to leave the country.

I think people will actually watch the Tribute to the Troops, I don't really know what was going on with the Main Event thing last time, but nonetheless. I don't think that the show would need Hogan, per se, but it would have been nice to see Hogan visit the troops as well, but it seems his bratty, spoiled son has ruined that as well.
nightingales
the mainevent thing was also to help raise awareness for autism, i think it was, and with it being on NBC, i guess they thought that would help a little. but even a "cause" didnt do anything for ratings, so i dont know why the hell theyd think hogan would do any better. i hate to say it, but tribute or not, its more than likely going to bomb again as bad as it has every time theyve been on NBC...

I remember after 9-11-01, WWE was the first ones to step up and say, "the show must go on"! All concerts and everything else sporting wise was cancelled during the tragedy and Vince toke a stand and said, "WWE refuses to let these terrorist stop our way of life and ruin the things that we love and hold dear". Like I said, call me wishy washy but I'm sure this year it will bring a tear to my eye as well. This my friends, ....is what makes the WWE so great, especially this time of year. I don't think the ratings will be that big of an issue for this.

Jason Powell of Prowrestling.net is reporting that Kurt Angle has been telling people close to him that he is very seriously contemplating a return to WWE. He is reportedly frustrated with the creative direction that both he and TNA are following, and appears to have little faith in Jeff Jarrett's lead. Angle's current contract is set to expire next fall, and at this point he would ditch his job with TNA and return to WWE if he could. Angle has spoken out about his concerns, most notably in the interview he did in the UK which sparked the TV feud between him and Jeff Jarrett.

Should Angle decide that he ultimately wants to return to WWE, it appears they would welcome him back despite anything negative he has said about working there in the past. Vince McMahon has a long standing forgive and forget policy when it's good for business, and in the case of Kurt Angle there would be no hesitation on WWE's part to bring him back into the company. He would most likely work a reduced schedule akin to The Undertaker and Shawn Michaels, which would alleviate the issues he had with WWE prior to his TNA debut.

Nobody hear bout this? Read it on another site a few day's ago, fit's in with the HBK/ 'Taker WM 25 rumour, interesting stuff...

WARNING POSSIBLE WRESTLEMANIA 25 SPOILER!!!!

Bruce Pritchard, who was fired this past week, leaked the main WM storyline to various 'dirt sheet's'.

QUOTE("Wrestling Observer Newsletter ")
In a rather low unclassy move made earlier this week by a former employee of the WWE who was recently released, said person has mailed out the planned script that was to take place at WWE's 25th anniversary of their Superbowl they call Wrestlemania to various "dirt sheet" websites such as ourselves, presumably giving away the storyline on The Undertaker.

It is no secret to who is behind this mess, as former WWE producer Bruce Prichard, best known to WWF fans as "Brother Love"(ironically The Undertakers first manager) was released last week. The ten page script confirmed rumors of Undertakers opponent being Shawn Michaels.

The story behind it will be that Shawn Michaels, along with Undertakers kayfabe brother Kane, has gotten word that Undertaker is planning on returning to Death Valley after Wrestlemania 25(Also confirming rumors of Undertakers 2009 retirement). Kane, feeling that this is his chance to prove himself to the Undertaker, as he has never defeated the Undertaker at Wrestlemania, takes it upon himself to insert himself into the match at Wrestlemania 25. On the other hand, Shawn Michaels who has no opponent for the show, insists that he is the one who should face The Deadman in his last match, citing Ric Flair as an example. This leads to a semi feud between Kane and Shawn Michaels over who gets to face 'Taker at Wrestlemania.

This will eventually lead to a match between the two at No Way Out, with Shawn Michaels prevailing(by cheating, thus starting a small heel run) and facing The Undertaker at Wrestlemania 25. In the weeks leading into Wrestlemania 25, Kane will align himself with Shawn Michaels after HBK convinces Kane that he is indeed the better man to "do the job" at Wrestlemania 25.

HBK is set to take advantage of the fact that Kane is the closest thing to The Undertaker and will have Kane tell him of his weaknesses. The script also calls for Kane to play as a bodyguard for HBK, protecting him until Wrestlemania 25 and assisting him to his matches on RAW. Mind games will prevail in classic 'Taker fashion; there is an angle on the March 30th edition of RAW(the last RAW before WM) scripted for Kane to be cremated alive, only to escape in mere seconds with HBK ditching him.

The last two pages on the script is specifically for the match at Wrestlemania 25, with Undertaker prevailing, keeping his streak alive. The finish calls for HBK to viciously assault 'Taker with a steel chair as the referee is laid out, taking advantage of the golden opportunity.

As the referee regains himself(Mike Chioda is scheduled to referee the match) he begins the traditional slow count that is stopped by Kane stepping down on his hands. Kane will then grab HBK and deliver his signature Chokeslam to him and drag his Brother unto him, keeping Undertakers streak alive. Page ten called for Paul Bearer to come out with the urn, announcing to Undertaker that it's time to go back home. As 'Taker regains himself, he will stand face to face with Kane, and do his signature pose, before vanishing into the air. The ending has a lot of different scripts to it on the page, but this is the one we found more relevant. This will lead to a feud with Kane and HBK, leading to a Hell In A Cell match at Backlash, with that being HBK's possible last match.

This is confirmation to the rumors that has been making the rounds on the net as of late. The storyline was to be produced by Bruce Prichard, Michael Hayes, and Vince Mcmahon. We are not to excited to see what action WWE may take against Prichard releasing scripts of planned shows and angles, but it was a very unclassy move made by him and his parties. We here at WON do not condone the actions of Prichard
