As what I can make up out of the error-message, it predicts that there is a high chance of a hardware-failure on your harddisk. I'd advise backing up all important data.

If that is the case, consider replacement of the hard-drive, or at least research what it will end up being like. Getting it running, then have it fail would be a bummer.

Here are a few that one might find interesting:

http://www.newegg.com/
http://www.tigerdirect.com
http://www.pricewatch.com/

Good luck with it all, should be a neat adventure.

right well ive bought a new hard drive and put it in, ive installed xp and when its restarts after the installation and loads up to the "Welcome to Microsoft Windows" screen it goes slow and the mouse jumps and then the laptop freezes altogether. Is there a reason that this could be happening? or is the laptop just shit and old?
