I am totally new here and only made this account to say something about this subject. This substance can be potentially dangerous, if it's not taken under the control of someone, who knows what he's doing. In Germany, they advertise apricot or apple cores (I hope I've got the right expression in my online-dictionary), because they contain Vitamin B 17 or amygdalin or Laetril. But unfortunately, part of the substance will already react in your stomach, if taken orally. We all have hydrochloric acid in our stomach – and it reacts with amygdalin and forms HCN, that's hydrocyanic acid and very toxic. The body can handle a certain amount of it – but this is a very small amount. And if you just eat apricot cores and dose it yourself, it might be very dangerous. This is no do-it-yourself-thing. If you can find any doctor, who is willing to treat you with amygdalin, it's much, much better, I think. As far as I know, there is also a possibility to administer it intravenously.

I am not an expert and I haven't taken it myself, I just did some research – but I would probably try it, if I had cancer – but only under supervision of a medical person of my trust. So, this is just my opinion, I may be wrong, I just want to encourage everybody to do some own research on the subject. Don't believe in anything too soon... except in God of course!

Laetrile (b17) is a well known quack dangerous medicine. Please do a little unbiased research before believing something that calls itself a documentary. Many studies of laetrile have been done and they in fact show not only is it non effective, but it is also dangerous. We all hope for an easy cure, but sadly that is not often the case. The sickest thing is when people try and profit off these quack medicines and charge people who are desperate tons of money tons of money for something proven dangerous and non effective

Mechanism of Action
The mechanism of action is unknown. Claims for amygdalin's activity rely on the theory, now proven false, that cancer cells contain elevated amounts of beta-glucosidase and reduced levels of rhodanese compared to normal cells (1) (2). Based on this incorrect assumption, cancer cells were claimed to metabolize amygdalin into cyanide and die, while healthy cells would convert cyanide to benign thiocyanate via rhodanese. Limited in vitro data support the idea that cyanide, benzaldehyde, and prunasin are cytotoxic.
