Or is it possible to burn a disk with these and play them on my own DC (Yes! it still works ).

Did a little web adventuring, and found a new[ish] freeware Dreamcast emulator called nullDC, and if your PC is 'above average' it looks like a winner...





The Digg link above has the nullDC readme file, containing minimum specs and other info. If you click the blue title on the Digg page you'll get sent to a forum site with all the info and a tutorial on how to run the emulator (I've not posted the direct link to it as links to "competitor's" sites not allowed and all that... .

nullDC won't play original Dreamcast discs (GD-ROMs) though, as a DVD or CD drive cannot read them. The only way to read these discs on your PC is to connect your Dreamcast to it with a special cable. This means that you'll have to download the ISO versions of any games you want to play (or invest in one of these cables to convert a game you already own to an ISO file).

Explanatory Note ('cos all the above downloads might be confusing!): You'll need three things to run this emulator:
1. The nullDC emulator.
2. A Dreamcast BIOS.

Oh, and just to make things even more confusing, they've released two versions of nullDC:
1. Dreamcast version (emulates the specifications of the Dreamcast exactly).
2. NAOMI version (NAOMI has twice the amount of main memory and graphics memory that Dreamcast has - games may run better and faster).
Both versions are available from the homepage.

Game ISOs can be found at a lot of emulator ROM sites (google Dreamcast ROMs). ROMBay has a bunch of them (including Shenmue 2 and Skies Of Arcadia - Yay!):
(But if you can't locate one you're looking for then just post a request here and we'll have a search for it. )

I've DL-ed/scanned the links I've posted here and they're all clean, but I haven't tested this yet. Hope it works as well for ya as it has for others - I've seen some very positive feedback about it. Enjoy!

EDIT: Regarding your question about burning games to CD so you can play them on your actual Dreamcast: There is a way to do this, but I haven't yet looked into it enough to give advice.

If you want info on how to do this then I'll have a look into it and get back to you on the best way to do it. From what I've read so far, to do this you won't need to modify your Dreamcast in any way at all.

But I've found a couple of other DC ROM sites you may wanna try... and I've checked to make sure none of these ask for money!

[Most games are just a single download - I just started D/L-ing one that was 500MB! In a SINGLE download! Has Skies of Arcadia.]

[D/Ls are in ~100MB parts. Has Shenmue 2 & Skies of Arcadia.]

Both these sites have LOTS of games! Hope that helps - remember to scan your D/Ls for safety.

I don't think You can have dawn of war in that aspect. Dawn of war dark crusade registers your serial and only alowes you (anyone on your ip address) to play that game online. Therefore if you downloaded it from here and cracked it... others would do the same and when each of you go to go online only 1 person would be able to do so... + when you go to log on that person would be kicked no matter what state he is online... Eg. in a game or just waiting for one.

I hope that opens some doors for you mate, looks like your going to need to buy the game for yourself.

help, how do you play and start the game after decompression finishes. when i start autorun or setup i get an error message or some sort. did n e 1 downloaded n install this game perfectly. please help!!!!!

i don't know if you downloaded from the same link but after the download ive ran the kgb for decompression

on completion (the file obviously expand right), i open the same folder and ran Autorun - i got this message (only part of the ReadProcessorMemory or WriteProcessMemory request was ccompleted)

than there is also a setup file which i also tried to run but it doesnt work for some reason. when i double click on the setup file a window file pops up for like a second with the black background (like ms dos) and then it dissapears.

there are also some winrar file which was left after the decompression from kgb. these files are:

every of these folder i click i get this message - the archive is either unknown format or damaged

I have download Kane and Lynch. It is all in on .iso around 8G. Too big to put on disk....
I have used Alcohol 120 to open and install the game but when I try to run it says wrong disk\ no disk inserted

go here and scroll down to the no-dvd/fixed exe and place it in the kane and lynch directory (were ever you installed it to) replace the exe from here with the one you already have
