Why has QSS gotten all yelly and sweary all of a sudden?

It's most definitely that time of year.

People in cold climates usually suffer from seasonal affective disorder...less sunlight, cold weather, lack of vitamin D from the sun.

All of these things lead to bad moods, which translates to bad forum behaviour.

I am no exception. I get super bummed out during the winter...it doesn't help that all of the sports I love are summertime sports (

No worries here...Whatever gets your message across....The mods are letting it slide, which I think is cool. I just think that the whole seasonal thing effects our moods. And that theory is proving itself on QSS in flying colors.

I'd say I agree on the seasonal disorder, but then being from the northwest corner we always have rain or clouds. I do notice people seem to drink alot more during the fall/winter season though. As for the Giants..God damn right! Should be a slaughter.

Im a BIG fan of freedom of speech. Ya know, we're not children and if you don't like what's being said then just change the channel. Swearing is just language and if it offends you, it's because you're giving it the power to offend you. Break it down, de-construct the it. The pixelated text in front of you ain't gonna jump out and bight ya. Just understand that the individual that reads the text is simultaneously making meaning out of it. It's kinda weird because at that point the writer's intent becomes somewhat irrelevant. So swear words on their own are harmless to me because I say so. I don't give them the power to offend me.

BUT, if swearing comes to me as a direct attack or nasty insult I will take offense. Interestingly enough, when that happens, the swearing becomes irrelevant. All they are is a decoration on a nasty notion. Swearing or not I take offense regardless of the language.

Language is an art form, just like a painting, I will spare no stroke of the lingual brush nor will I spare any essentials when I try to convey a message.

On that note, I gotta say that swearing for swearing's sake is kind of ugly....Use the language don't abuse it.

swearing has no place at all on this site , this site is for everyone not just people that don't mind vulgarity . mostly this site is very clean and the members are able to communicate without the use of profanity , but there are some who don't realize or care that people put much effort into this site being safe for all ages

That's fine that you feel that way but its blatantly obvious that THE MODS AREN'T ENFORCING IT. So it becomes accepted language de-facto. Until it becomes enforced I will use any language that I see fit. I will not use it to attack anybody, but I will use it. Censorship blows in general. Come to the underground, read the sticky that explains why its there. When you attack swearing you are attacking a a part of QSS that is a structured area that offers the very option that you believe should be shut down. Censorship is simply illogical, to say nothing of the "slippery slope" that arises from it's coat tails. I mean the major corporate college text book writers are looking at the fact that they can't use the word "owl" because in some cultures it means death and conotates a slew of negative meaning, THAT'S RIDICULOUS!!!! Honestly, where does it stop....political correctness can simply kiss my ass.

I'll be the judge of what aspects of my language I will use. If I get a bar on my WARN-O-METER, then I'll tone it down simply out of respect for the QSS community and staff. Until then please don't trip like the neighborhood mom on me or any other adults.
