my computer will rip a cd onto the computer but if i try to burn a cd nothing happens i even checked 'my computer' file and where it usually would say blank cd it jst say disk drive D

any suggestions
haleem
are you sure the drive writes that type of dvd, cause maybe it only writes onto dvd+r or dvd-r

go to properties of your d drive.
Minusturd
Hm.If it's actually copying the cd to your drive it makes me wonder what software you are trying to burn with?
Schizo
Yeah as haleem said, first u need to check the type of dvd/cd that you are putting into the cd-rom drive and check that the dvd/cd is capable of being used on your drive.
If that's the problem, then just buy some blanks that will work on your drive.

Also in relation to what Minusturd said , make sure that the software that you have is capable of ripping a cd/dvd and also able to burn a cd/dvd. If thats your problem then I would recommend getting some proper software like Nero or ImToo DVD Creator ( the one I use )

You also mentioned that on "my computer" that it usually says blank cd whenever you put a blank cd/dvd into the drive. Does that mean that it used to say that previously to your problem?? If so , then you might have to check with your manufacturer of the computer/notebook ( Dell, etc.. ) in case the drive has corrupted.

Glad to help , and if you need any more help on this please PM me! smile.gif
