A good friend of mine brought me a box of these photos that the local college was throwing out, why they did is beyond me, but I scanned most of them and put them on CD for storage and sent the original photos to a local museum who were very happy to take them off my hands.

Here is a screen of whats inside and the quality of these images. Some are in color as well:




I have 2 of 6 uploads on Megaupload right now. I should have the other 4 up by Sunday evening. Each download is just under 100 MB's each ..

Just opened the first folder and wanted to say you did a fantastic job on the scanning! Beautiful prints at a high resolution. These will be a joy to work with.

I am getting "The file you are trying to access is temporarily unavailable." I am really hoping that this first file isn't gone...?

I worked with the 508th Parachute Infantry Regiment 82nd Airborne from WWII (Red Devils, or Screaming Devils if you're a history buff) on their photo album, and I know they would LOVE to see these. These appear to be better than a lot of the photos they had! If you can, contact your nearest military museum about the cds and see if they are interested.

Anyway, I am downloading the second file and I just wanted to say THANK YOU for saving them from being tossed/lost!

^^Really.I was showing these to my grandfather who os a WWII veteran and he couldn't believe that someone would just trash historical photos like that.

hmmmm... you are right. it doesnt say "files been taken down" or anything like that. but whenever i click the "regular download" button... nothing happens. all the other files were downloaded without a hitch, but i've tried #5 aain, and still the same thing .

Who in their right mind would throw these pictures out? A college is the last place I would expect that kind of idiocy to occur. Thank you for recognizing the importance of such things, and making an effort to save them! Looks like there are some GREAT photos. The colour ones are just fantastic. Makes me wonder what other great stuff these idiots have thrown out.

I don't know much about starting a website. But you can start a blog at a free blog site. Than you can host the photos on some image hosting sites. And you can give it a free .tk domain with:
