Seeing a request for Poser, I realized I hadn't seen a link on here to Daz. So I am giving one!

Daz3D is an awesome 3D program that is free to install and use. yep, FREE! I have used both it, Raydream Studio, and Poser and it is by far the easiest to learn and use and just as good and I think better for finished work. Where they get you (see the word FREE) is in selling you the objects and figures and skins. But all in all it is a very good deal. I have loved it.

(quick note, I am having trouble signing into my account today so I am not sure if you will have any trouble registering if you should try it)

And should you like it or even if you are using another 3d program, the best online community to join and frequent is Renderosity.

Sign up for the newsletter and you get a monthly freebie that is sometimes just what you were wanting! Some members offer their art free, some ask a small fee, but it is a really good place for 3d artists and noobs.

If you delve into 3d art there are also tons of free objects and skins all over the web as well.

Welcome! To be so cool and so free I am always surprised at how little word gets around about it. Have fun. smile.gif

Hey ya'll! I told Apex a bit ago that I had been concentrating on learning to really use my 3D programs, that was one of my few New Year's resolutions. smile.gif It's also one reason I haven't posted in here very much the past few months. I have been pretty much downloading nothing but components for Daz, Bryce, and Poser. And let me tell you, there is a massive amount out there. laugh.gif

If any of you have downloaded Daz you will know that all you get to start with is a very basic limited edition V3 (Victoria) with only a small fairy theme to learn with and very few poses. And if any of you have downloaded it and are ready for more, I have the stuff. biggrin.gif

Lol, in the virtual world and with a good 3D program you can have just about anything you want. laugh.gif I am trying to create a character that is short, stocky and rides a horse to illustrate a children's story I wrote a long time ago. When I go to look for a pre-made one I can tweak a little all I can find are fashion models in underwear.

Thus my attempt to learn to do it all myself from scratch.
