That is just kick-a§§ deb, thanks for the link. Star Trek did that one time & made a TV show out of the whole extravaganza, fascinating. Hopefully THIS one will be similar.

BSG and that's it. Lost faith in Fringe after a few episodes and don't know of any other good scifi that's on. I'll dip into Dr Who every now again, it's good but doesn't capture my "stay tuned till next week" attention.

Well if you like Sci-fi, I'd seriouly recomend anime, the japanese have some great sci-fi concepts. If you dont like subs theres plenty of finished series's that have been dubbed, I really enjoyed the Ghost In A Shell series's and would highly recoment them

True blood, eureka, sanctuary, and dr.who are all great shows, but dr.who is on a 2 year break for some unknown reason, and eureka is on a midseason break till mid spring who knows why they did that, even atlantis hasn't done that and sanctuary has been all repeats from the webisodes, new eps will be starting at episode 10 and true blood is done for this season. also fringe.

only btw.: Teh break is because Steven Moffat taking the show over, and also there are 4 specials in this time without a season, so it is not a real break.

Sci Fi Channel orders 'Battlestar' prequel 'Caprica'
source article
Description from the press release:
QUOTE
Set 50 years before "Battlestar Galactica," "Caprica" follows two rival families -- the Graystones and the Adamas -- as they grow, compete, and thrive in the vibrant world of the 12 Colonies, a society recognizably close to our own. Enmeshed in the burgeoning technology of artificial intelligence and robotics that will eventually lead to the creation of the Cylons, the two houses go toe-to-toe blending action with corporate conspiracy and sexual politics. "Caprica" will deliver all of the passion, intrigue, political backbiting and family conflict in television's first science fiction family saga. As the series begins, a startling development is about to occur -- the creation of the first cybernetic life-form node or "Cylon" -- the ability to marry artificial intelligence with mechanical bodies. Joseph Adama (Morales) -- father of future "Battlestar" commander William Adama (Najafi) -- a renowned civil liberties lawyer, becomes an opponent of the experiments undertaken by the Graystones (Stoltz), owners of a large computer corporation that is spearheading the development of these living robots: the Cylons.

Sci Fi Channel has given the long-gestating "Battlestar Galactica" prequel "Caprica" a series order. The network has made a significant commitment to the project, ordering 20 hours, including a two-hour pilot. Cast members include Eric Stoltz ("Milk," "Chicago Hope"), Esai Morales ("Jericho," "NYPD Blue"), Paula Malcomson ("Deadwood," "ER") and Polly Walker ("Cane," "Rome").

" 'Caprica' will build on 'Battlestar Galactica's' acclaimed legacy of gripping drama and extraordinary characters," said Sci Fi president Dave Howe. "It's the beginning of a brand new epic saga that will appeal to both new viewers, totally unfamiliar with the 'Battlestar' franchise, as well as existing loyal and passionate 'Battlestar' fans."

"Caprica" was originally planned to launch as a two-hour movie, which has already been shot. After viewing the footage, Sci Fi has opted to go straight to series -- but that means launching later than fans expected. Series production will begin next summer for a 2010 premiere. "Caprica" is produced by Universal Cable Productions and executive produced by Ronald D. Moore and David Eick and Remi Aubuchon.

"Ron, David and Remi have created an amazing series with thought-provoking storytelling that deals with a world very similar to our own," said Mark Stern, executive vp of programming at Sci Fi. "It's definitely not as dark as 'Battlestar,' but like that show, this series has smart, dimensional characters who grapple with issues of love, sex and politics from a world in transition."

"Not as dark as 'Battlestar' " is a key selling point for the network.

"Battlestar" debuted to strong ratings, that fell off in later seasons. One of the network's frustrations with the show has been its dark and increasingly complex mythology. The network hopes "Caprica" will bring in wider viewership. But will a sci-fi melodrama that eschews using space ships (see interview below), whose central crisis is essentially a ramp up to a story whose ending we already know really be able to draw a fresher and bigger audience? And are the characters going to wear trench coats and hats like Morales does to the right, or is that just his thing?

---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

i just saw this and thought it would be some good news to those of you who enjoy the series, i, myself have never seen an episode of the new series, i used to love the old seies with lorne green as adama i think his name was and the guy "face" from the a-team as starbuck. but it does look good to me.

The Final Cylon Is:

Doc Cottle

1.) 'The Last Supper' was painted by Da Vinci. The actor who plays Doc Cottle, Donnelly Rhodes, also played in a series called 'Da Vinci's Inquest'.

2.) The Final Cylon is said to be a 'Motherly Figure'. What better than a 'Motherly Figure' than a Doctor?

3.) One of the hints supposedly released by the Sci-Fi Channel via text message said, 'You've Heard My Voice Countless Times But You Do Not Know My Name.'. Does anyone know Doc Cottle's first name?

4.) D'Ana knows who the final 5 are. She apologized to one in her vision. D'Ana had an exchange with Doc Cottle, during the occupation, in which Doc Cottle treated her respectfully. Could she be apologizing for 'attempting to out him', when he had treated her so kindly? Doc Cottle is respected by both Humans and Cylons, treating Cylon patients as if they were Humans.

SPOILERS ABOUT THE POSSIBLE ENDING OF THE ENTIRE SERIES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

From my blog:

It seems the final 5th Cylon was revealed on Battlstar Galactica, or so we are led to believe.

If it turns out to be true, then I was dead wrong. Also, I should state that only one clue, as far as I can figure, points to the person that was identified. The clue in question being 'The Last Supper' picture, and the fact that this person wasn't in the picture. None of the other clues seem in anyone connected to this individual.

Seriously though, the show is getting so strange that it wouldn't surprise me if EVERYONE turns out to be Cylon. If you watch the show then you might come up with the same suspicion.

Well, I'm off to the forums as BSG fans are gonna tear it up over the revelation of the identity of the final Cylon, as well as what happened on tonight's episode.

[Addendum: Apparently, BSG fans think alike. My opinion seems to be shared by a lot of fans, that EVERYONE is a Cylon. This would imply that all the 'humans' are simply a different Cylon humanoid model, programmed to think they are human.

Reference the first basestar-hybrid Cylon encountered in BSG Razor, that stated "All This Has Happened Before And It Will Happen Again...And Again...And Again..." This old Cylon gives a prophecy about the final five that came true. Perhaps that line implies that the Cylons are ignorant that they are playing the same game over and over again, i.e. creating human-model Cylons that create their own Cylons who rebel...only to create more human-model Cylons.

Heres's the old basestar-hybrid prophecy:

"At last they’ve come for me. I feel their lives, their destinies spilling out before me. The denial of the one true path, played out on a world not their own, will end soon enough.

Soon there will be four, glorious in awakening. Struggling with the knowledge of their true selves. The pain of revelation bringing new clarity. And in the midst of confusion, he will find her, enemies brought together by impossible longing, enemies now joined as one. The way forward, at once unthinkable, yet inevitable. And the fifth still in shadow, will claw toward the light, hungering for redemption that will only come in the howl of terrible suffering. I can see them all. The seven now six self-described machines, machines who believe themselves without sin. But in time, it is sin that will consume them. They will know enmity, bitterness, the wrenching agony of the one splintering into the many and then they will join the promised land, gathered on the wings of an Angel. Not an end, but a beginning.

Kara Thrace will lead the human race to its end. She is the herald of the apocalypse, the harbinger of death. They must not follow her. As my own existence comes to a close only to begin anew in ways uncertain. All this has happened before and will happen again...and again...and again....and again...(Killed)"

My observation: If Kara Thrace is both an 'Angel' and the herald of the apocalypse, then she is 'The Angel Of Death'.

So at this time, I am inclined to say that EVERYONE on BSG is a frackin' Cylon!!!!

I forgot to add that the first basestar-hybrid also says, 'My Children Believe I Am Their God'.]

Warning! Spoilers About Tonight's Episode!!!!!

Dualla kills herself, but she does it in an odd way, almost as if she isn't in control of herself. I have pondered this. The first hybrid (Razor) states that Kara will lead everyon to their death. If EVERYONE is a Cylon, then the humans are Cylons that are programmed to think they are human. What if they were programmed to kill themselves if they discovered their true origins? I mean, in this scenario only a select few (The Final Five) could be programmed not to kill themselves. Just an interesting thought.

WARNING! SPOILER FOR THE ENTIRE SERIES:

And once again BSG delivers! Great ep., but i thought i read on sci-fi awhile back that the last 10 episodes were going to be extra long? did they just scrap that idea or what? either or i have faith that BSG will end like a series should and very few do. perhaps some of these shows makers will take a cue from this gem of tv wizardry and start making more of its calibre.

It is season 4, but because of the extreme distance between seasons (sometimes between 8-10 months), and of the way they release the DVD's, there are season X.0 and X.5. Season 4.0 DVD's were released a few weeks ago (which I bought), and the last 10 episodes are called "Season 4.5", mostly by fans. For more confusion, the production crew refer to this episode as Episode 13 because "Battlestar Galactica: Razor" was considered the first two "episodes" of season 4 to be put into production. So, episode 1 of Season 4 is actually referred to as S04E3. It's all confusing sometimes.

There won't be a Season 5. Season 4 is the last Season, and yes, they decided to take a break half-way through the airings. I'm not sure why, but I read that the original intent was to show the season as usual, but at the last minute they decided to split it up. My guess would be that the Sci-Fi channel want to extend the drama and attract more viewers, especialy as one of their hit shows is about to end.

I heard there will be a new series, but after the way things are going now, I'm not sure if it will be any good.

It is definitely interesting star. Well I have already watched the spisode three times and I still can't believe it. Dualla shooting herself was soooo left field. But you are so right about the humming thing star. That is why I did not understand the whole thing with Ellen because I thought Dee killed herself because she thought she was one or something. They really gave us a lot of suggestions in this episode. Starbuck, Dee, or Ellen. Oh my goodness, my blood is pumping about this, I stayed up quite late last night pondering the hell out of this. Being only a casual fan, I was a bit confused with all the different monikers being used for the episode that aired friday night, but thanks to your explanations I understand what's what and why there was some confusion in peoples mind. But if I do find future links I will stick with calling them 412, 413, etc.

As far as SciFi making a spin-off, I don't blame them for wanting to ride the wave that BSG has created for them, but sometimes things are better left alone.

Driving me crazy but I love it!

Same i have been pondering alot about the 5th even more so after Tigh mentions his wife as a possibility i am still hoping however that its Cally mainly cuz she was a great character biggrin.gif
