I watched this and I got a little angry not only with the homosexual thing, but with all the signs. One in particular was the one that said Princess Dianne was a @hore. What the hay? So what she got a divorce and she dated a few guys so that makes here a @hore? WOW!! I think Princess Di was a great humanitarian. I think she did alot of good in this world and her short life. Awesome documentary. From the moment I heard of these WBC monsters, I've just been waiting for someone, anyone, to call these sick fucks out on the, at best, flawed logic of the hate they spew as they cower behind a cross and the 1st amendment. I think that's the part that chaps my ass the most; These people claim that America is some new kind of doomed Sodom that's just begging for the wrath of God, but they wouldn't even be able to get away with any of this shit unless they were working within the American system of citizen rights. The hypocrisy runs deep in the Westboro Baptist Church. Very, very deep.

I'm gonna try and stop myself before my tirade quickly builds into a full-on hate-fest, but I will say this: The shit these "people", if they are indeed human, are doing benefits no one. By that admission alone, I don't feel that what they're doing is free speech; it's obscenity, something that they can, and should, be prosecuted for.

But before I forget, there is something else I'd like to add: after a particularly bone-headed statement by the wonderfully progressive Republican senator Rick Santorum (he basically likened homosexuality to bestiality and incest, mere days before the Supreme Court declared anti-sodomy laws as unconstitutional), sex columnist Dan Savage, on the suggestion of his readers, created a contest in order to use the senator's name as some kind of new slang for a sexual substance or act. The concern was that even something as remarkably asinine as the Santorum quote would fade into obscurity unless some action was taken, and something that stupid couldn't just be brushed under the rug to be forgotten. Here's the challenge as it appeared in an article of his:

There's no better way to memorialize the Santorum scandal than by attaching his name to a sex act that would make his big, white teeth fall out of his big, empty head. And don't doubt for a moment that Savage Love readers have that power. Savage Love readers selected "pegging" for a woman doing a man in the ass with a strap-on dildo—much to my Aunt Peggy's dismay—and "pegging" is already showing up in dictionaries of sexual slang. While I agree with the spirit of naming something objectionable (to him) after Rick Santorum, I think it should be a substance, not an act. I would never want to Santorum anyone I liked. What a turnoff. Instead, I think it would be better to name some kind of sexual byproduct after him. I'm suggesting we do the same thing for good 'ol Fred Phelps. I'm thinking we should go the 'pegging' route and use 'Phelping'. It could mean just about anything, but I'm thinking that since Phelps seems to have such a hard-on (so to speak) for bashing "the gays," we try this:

Phelping- verb. The act of a gay man giving a reach-around on his partner while simultaneously giving him a rimjob.

As messed up as that cult is, they choose the wrong guy to do a documentary on it. He was childish, ignorant as as set in his ways as they are in theirs. Oh well.
