Before it takes its first breath, a human baby has been through an incredible transformation...

From a single cell to a complex, self-sustaining organism. With ground-breaking photography, computer graphics, and 4-D imaging, "In the Womb" reveals this amazing process as the first heart cells begin to beat, the nerve cells flicker to life, and the senses develop.

The process by which multiples develop in the womb is fraught with complications and dangers. But, it is also a fascinating world where humans first interact with their siblings before entering the world outside the uterus. "In the Womb: Multiples" follows the development of double-egg twins, sometimes called fraternals, and identical or single-egg twins. We also follow the development of triplets and a very rare set of identical quads in their quest for survival. Using revolutionary 4D scans, we witness unique footage of multiple fetuses interacting with each other before birth: reaching, touching, fighting and even engaging in game-playing that can continue after they are born. Ultimately, "In the Womb: Multiples" tells us not only about the extremes of human reproduction but the limits of human design.

"In the Womb: Animals" is an unprecedented special that takes you inside the hidden world of animal pregnancy. Using state-of-the-art visual effects, computer graphics and real-time, moving 4-D ultrasound imagery, we can see inside the unique world of animal fetal development in a way never before possible. For the first time, these pictures shed light on how an elephant, a dolphin and a dog develop in the womb.

Witness a single cell develop into a baby elephant weighing over 260 pounds. Watch as a dolphin fetus learns to swim inside its mother's womb. See incredible images of a dog fetus as it exhibits full-grown dog behaviors while still in the womb. And watch as fetal features reveal their evolutionary path of these animals when the elephant develops ducts normally found in freshwater fish, and when dolphins show early signs of legs.

"In the Womb: Animals" opens a window into fetal development in the animal kingdom, unlocking mysteries of one of nature's most remarkable journeys—from conception to birth.
