Honestly, this show was freakin awesome. The storyline was amazing, the plot, having a bunch of nukes go off in America and how a small town deals with the aftermath, well, its just great!
For those that havent watched it, heres how it goes:
Jericho is a small town in Kansas. The main Charactor, Jake, was born and raised in the town, but was away for a number of years doing his own mysterious thing. He came back to town, met up with his family, did all that and headed back to wherever it was he came from. While driving, he sees a Mushroom Cloud over the horizon.
And so it begins. After the Bomb goes off, Everything gets shut down in America. There is no more internet, no more Cable, no phones or anything. The whole town of Jericho is clueless as to what exactly happened. Was this a terrorist attack? was there only one bomb? who attacked them? what is the extent of the damage? was the country being invaded??
There are many questions to be asked, but with no means of finding the answers, the towns people are forced to try and cope and maintain law and order. Over the days, weeks and months following the bomb(s), tiny bits of information begin to come out. The town still has power, but there is no radio or tv working to find information. After moving a satalite dish around and playing with it, they get a brief signal on the TV. It shows a map of America with many targets over major cities indicating thats where the bombs went off, and there is some talking in chinese, then the signal is gone.
The town is forced to deal with many issues. There is no supply of gas, so what they have is all they have. after a few weeks, a bomber flys over and detonates an EMP(electro-magnetic pulse) which kills all power in the town. Winter is coming, there is no power, food supplies are running out, people are getting restless. To top it off, There are new threats from a rival town that wants what Jericho has. There is also a group of heavily armed militia that want Jerichos supplies too. How will the people of this small town cope with these problems? how will it all play out?
This show is a MUST WATCH for anyone that hasnt seen it. It is truly a remarkable show, very well written, excellent charactors, plenty of mystery, lots of action. This show drew massive fan support, it became an instant cult classic. The first season aired completely with a amazing and shocking cliffhanger of a finale.
After the season was finished, it was announced that the show was cancelled. This made the fans FURIOUS!!!. the network recieved thousands and thousands of letters and emails, and thanks to these supportive fans, the show has been brought back from the dead. Although nobody is sure if the season will be completely picked up, there will be atleast 6 or 7 episodes, enough episodes to give the show a proper ending. I personally want to see many seasons of this show because there is so much that could happen in fictional world. Nuclear wastelands dont get cleaned up in a year, the land where the bomb goes off wont be liveable for like 1000 years, so I would love to see where the writers can take this. There is no forseeable end for the show, and i would be horrible dissapointed if it doesnt end properly.
For those that havent seen the show, i hope i peaked your interest. I honestly think its the second deepest show on TV next to Lost, and that says a lot. For those that have seen the show, let me know what you thought about it.
Personally, Lost is my favorite show on TV, an coming in a close second would be a tie between Heroes and Jericho, followed by Prison break. Ofcourse i like the other shows, but these shows should be in their own catergory, perhaps Fantasy fiction or something like that.

The show was cancelled, but the show was left with a cliffhanger and it pissed off all the fans. It was probably meant to last for many seasons originally...
anyway, thanks to tremendous fan support the show producers decided that they would create more episodes, and all the original actors are coming back. Unfortunately the show was only picked up for about 6 or so episodes, which is enough to give the fans closure, but i would personally have loved to see the show last for like 100+ episodes...

trust me, it gets much better, even tho its already good!
believe me, there are some big mysteries and a lot of cool shit going on over the season, its such an amazing series, i pray that show gets brought back for a complete season, or rather, i hope this show could last for 5+ seasons!
If i was a dying child, and i had like 6 years left to live, id wish for that series to continue. If i was dying and i only had like a year to live, I think i would wish to spend a day with the producers of Lost and have a top secret conference about everything that is going to happen on Lost, and what all the answers are, and how its all gonna end!
I wonder if that wish would get granted?

I liked this show also and sad to hear it was cancelled, but glad to hear they are going to give fans closer instead of what HBO did with Carnivale.

The first three episodes of CBS’s TV-series “Jericho” have leaked to BitTorrent a month before its official premiere date. The popular show was initially canceled last year, but after several protests from angry fans CBS decided to revive it. Nuts!

To most fans it came as quite a shock when CBS announced the cancellation of Jericho March last year. The show had a huge fanbase, and several blogs and communities organized protests to revive the show.
Jeff Braverman, one of the most loyal fans, even went as far as dumping 5,000 pounds of nuts at the CBS offices in New York. CBS’s Vice President of Communications, Chris Ender said that the Jericho protests were the biggest they’d ever seen: “It’s been an impressive display of passion from a loyal audience. You have to tip your hat to their ability to get attention and make some noise.”
Initially CBS, who donated the nuts to charities, wasn’t planning on reviving the show, but after more fans went nuts they eventually did. The official premiere date of the second season was set for February 12, 2008, but today, several weeks before the planned return, the first three episodes of season 2 (ripped from a promotional DVDscreener) are already uploaded to several BitTorrent sites. Perhaps the recent leaks are a gift to the dedicated fans of the show?
It certainly wouldn’t be the first time that TV-shows were leaked on purpose. Last fall an unusually large number of pre-air TV shows appeared on BitTorrent sites, in some cases several months before their scheduled air dates. Many of those leaks appear to be inside jobs, and TV executives are starting to realize that leaking shows to BitTorrent can help promote them.
Whether Jericho was leaked on purpose remains unclear, but I guess the thousands of fans who already downloaded the show today don’t really care where it came from.

I'm with you on that MM. It is awsome. I saw the first three "leaked" eps. of the second season. On here of course(go QSS!). I really think that they are going to bring it in a pretty good direction regarding the ongoing plotline. You know....like who was behind the bombings, the new government while keeping the Jericho centric storylines interesting too. I think that you are right that 2nd season is only going to be 7eps. Its all that they would sign off on. But I think that if it comes back for a 3rd (thats if the 2nd season does well enough) it'll be at least 13 eps. Hey MM, do you know if anyone is posting the new eps here. The 2nd season is on tv in the U.S. at the mo. but I couldn't find it on here except for a CBS link.

Here is 2x05.
I'm a big fan & have watched it since it began. Having it return was a great joy. The original characters have been through a lot. Seeing Jakes dad die was bunk. However, that happens on TV. Key players die or get killed off.
Being from the American Midwest might have something to do with my enthusiasm.
The changing of the flag rang home somehow too.
Vexillology has been an interest of mine & would explain that I presume. Or maybe the inherent disolution of the nation from 50 stars to 23 has something to do with it. We still don't know what Texas will do.
Lately the turn towards Jennings & Rall/Ravenwood has had me quite intruiged.
Bonnie sure went out in a blaze. Seeing her brother finish the job...wow, totally unexpected. And as Hawkins said, escalates things a bit.
Two more episodes left. Then I'll be on needles & pins awaiting another season.

Well...it would appear that I am the only sad sack watching this amazing show, grin. Keeping the discussion all to myself as it were.
2x06 comments:
Beck seemed to enjoy Jake being tortured. Something about insurrection & having his power subverted.
How about that bit with his mom? Sure was good to see "her" back on the show.
Not to mention the visions of his grandfather.
Heather put Beck in his place, saying how she couldn't tell the difference between him & Constantino.
Hawkins nearly got pinched. It will be interesting to see how he fares, now that he's on the offense.
We still don't know the identity of the guy on the phone yet.
Stanley is all twisted up. How's he going to straighten out?
The last show (2x07) revolving around the bomb in the hands of the govt. in Cheyenne. Should be interesting to see how "that" goes.

I sure hope so. And as you know, anything is possible. Networks have a strange mind for these things. The Official Fan Forum hasn't indicated an official announcement for a third season yet. Therefore it's needles & pins for a bit longer.
I was glad to see Stanley take the shot though. Goetz had to go. Just too bad it twisted up our boy like it has. This last show is going to be a doozie.

It would appear this is correct. Friday (3-21-08) was the fatal announcement.
Source 1Source 2Source 3Official CBS Fan ForumI can't speak to the reliability of the first source, however, two & three are legitimate. Fan forum by general principle is a reliable source.
Dark days for another great series. Much like Firefly, which had a tremendous fan following, this one will most likely stay dead.

Series Finale Patriots & Tyrants, aptly put.
Gray got to do the finale.
Eric had to deal with Constantino afterall & realized it wasn't necessary in the end.
Heather told off Beck & got bars for it.
Hawkins took a bullet from....Smith of all people.
Beck found Hawkins computer & realized Heather was right, having seen the Smith plan.
Jake crashed the gate at the Texas embassy where
JAG Admiral Chegwidden saves the day.
Beck switched sides at last.
How 'bout those missles?
Becks men got smart too.
That South Carolina
"Dont Tread On Me" flag on the pole was great, IMO of Johnston.
Civil war is on the horizon. This time instead of North & South, it's East (Columbus) meets West (Cheyenne).
And Hawkins didn't have to die in the end.
Not a bad ending all in all, here, here.

That is a very good idea. They already show the first season. Maybe if it gets more rating through Sci-Fi, maybe they could bring it back again, like what happened with Family Guy. But I doubt it given the fact this was its second chance. I really don't want this show to go.
