thanks takic, i love louis theroux, he's got such a disarming personality and he can get so close to his subjects. i belive that he has a new one coming to tv on sunday BBC2, i think!

Very true!

He's got a ninja-style backdoor subconcious, reversed psychological way of interviewing. It's a known technique, and Theroux masters it like no other.

So there's a new series on the way?

great news. Seems like I'm going to wipe the dust off of my tv and watch BBC.

That is such a great documentary, because it shows how the documentary-maker (louis) is the guy who don't accept other persons and other persons views. Almost every one of the racists seem to try to show that they have respect for other persons views, but want the right to have their own. Louis seems to not understand this at all. I'm white, but not racist. I'm not hypocritical like louis though, I don't condemn other persons views.

Racism is absolutely a view. It's not only white people who are racist either, a lot of jews are very racist ("don't you dare come home with a boy/girl who isn't a jew!"), some muslims are pretty racist etc.

This is what narrow-minded people don't ever seem to get: A racist don't have to hate anyone. A racist can be friends with people who are not his own "color". However he got pride in his own herritage, and he want his own herritage to be kept from mixing with other herritage.

And let me state again, I'm no racist, what I'm writing here is not my views. But I am ashamed of other non-racists when they condemn people because of their pride in own herritage.

There is a big difference from that view to the nutcases who want to kill people of other race.

This link still isn't working for me but I am assuming that this is the "almost heaven" episode. I'd like to remind you all that he only meets with nazis once in this documentary, that roller-dude was pretty scary too, but everyone else seemed pretty level headed survivalists (paranoid no doubt). But to call them all nazis is far off base.

The thing that pisses me off slightly, is blacks can have a mobo (music of black origin) awards in America. I'm fairly certain if that was the other way around, all of a sudden whites would be labeled racist

Many white musicians have won MOBO's. The MOBO's are for music of black origin, not black people.

Hip-Hop, for example, is the biggest selling music genre & it's Artistes have the biggest following. Why should popular genres such as this one not be recognised at awards ceremonies? Why is it nobody complains about the Source awards in America?

I can't believe that they can actually call this a "church". Fake smiles and faith in something that they can't even themselves explain. When asked a question, their answers were usually a sigh or a roll of the eyes and they said that the questions were "silly" and "ridiculous". How can you stand there and say you believe in something that you can't even explain to someone not from that group? Right, following the bible, but why those topics and why by those means to get your point across?

Btw, imo, the pastor didn't seem to me as the educated type. I think the only book he has ever read was the bible. Louis was right in saying that the pastor has a lot of anger within him. The only consolation I have from watching this is that most of the members probably won't get married. So hopefully one day that family will cease to exist. I think that is God's REAL will. NOT a cult? Yeah, whatever.
