...Okay, when running Overture for the first time, a window popped up saying,
"Caution! There were no VST plugins found!", and asking if I wanted to disable VST. I clicked 'No' and it worked fine... sound and everything.
I uninstalled, reinstalled to a different location and ran the program again - this time clicking 'Yes' in answer to the "disable VST?" question. Tried to load a sample, got the "invalid path for blahdeblah.ove file, etc etc, blah blah" (or something like that!
) error.
So that's what causes the problem - to fix it once it's installed, run the program and click
'Options'->
'Preferences' and put a check/tick in the box next to
'Remap Unknown Devices To'. Then make sure that your audio device is selected in the dropdown box on the right.
This solved the problem for me and I'm guessing it'll fix it for you too. Shout again if any problems.
