If you've got Greasemonkey installed, you might also want to try the Megaupload Automator Plus script. It even enters the 4-character captcha code. So far, it works flawlessly. Totally automates the entire MU downloading process--you load the link, it does the rest.

skipping timers ?dont think so tested this 1 month back .if it has changed ok but i think you still have to wait for the next dl .its more a thing when you are busy and forget to push the dl button and that it expires.this tool will do that automatic for ya but not always .if i am wrong don't kick me please lol

i have used skipscreen before and was not impressed. worked great at first, but they don't update it for shit. it would just reroute you to a Spanish site to stream. (don't know if it still does) and if you wanted to download, you had to shut it off and restart ff. but hey, give it a shot and see if its better now. (i suspect its just the greasemonkey script with ads)
Menace
It skips the coundown on a hell of a lot of download sites. No more 60 or 30 second waits. Works great for the alternate method megaupload. I'm just talking about the countdown timers for waiting. Not the maximum download limit timer Jan KICK!!!!!!!!

Actually, for freeware (or donationware--pretty much the same thing), the developers are quite responsive about upgrading SkipScreen. The time bottleneck ends up being Mozilla. All addons (and/or addon upgrades) are queued awaiting review and approval before being made available for public download on addons.mozilla.org. That can (and usually does) take weeks. If any of the supported sites decide to change something in the interim (as Megaupload did recently), the process starts all over again.

According to their blog, there are supposedly plans to self-host SkipScreen, which should hopefully result in more frequent updates (as well as the inclusion of features rejected by a.m.o.).

just for the record, im not bashing it. have not used it for quite a while. it went screwy and i quit using it. could be way better now. that's why i said to give it a shot. hell, i might give it another shot if its been redone a little bit.

not a bad post really.

(this post is referring to the post that disappeared while i was typing.)
Menace
Yeah I deleted it. You should give it another shot morpheus. Hell I haven't even liked firefox till I've discovered all these addons that make these things so much more bearable.

THM, other than installing it, nothing else needs to be done by the user. It just works (for now).

If you have DownloadHelper installed, then it should pick up the url when the download dialogue box pops up. Just cancel the download and click the arrow beside Download Helper icon to bring up the menu, click 'Copy Url' then paste the url into the generator box as normal.
Alternatively, you could just start the download and then open the part file with VLC to watch while it's downloading.

You're not crazy, it does that if the timer bypass part of the script doesn't work (sometimes it does, sometimes it doesn't). If it does successfully bypass the timer, it will automatically start the download as shown in jayelcee's post.

One thing that has changed ... the "omit timeout" feature of the Megaupload Automator Plus! script isn't currently working. They (MU) obviously did something (again). While the script still automatically enters the captcha (doesn't always get it first try, but usually suceeds on the second--I've never seen it have to take more than two guesses), it now reports there'll be a 26-second wait (when logged into my account--might be 46 seconds when downloading anonymously), proceeds to count down to zero and initiates the download dialog.

EDIT: No, you're definitely not crazy. After rereading your post, and then loading a MU link (with the "omit timeout" not working), I see the "Here" link you're referring to.
