Mrs Horsehead and I just had a baby and I've been looking around for sounds on the net to help him relax/sleep

First of all, here is a nice selection of music done in an instrumental lullaby style (not cheesy, no Mickey Mouse voices etc.)

there are loads of CDs, including The Beatles, Bob Marley, Rolling Stones, U2, Radiohead, Pixies, Metallica(!), Led Zeppelin, Ramones, Rolling Stones, ACDC, Smashing Pumpkins, Green Day, Pink Floyd and more

I love the fact that they are instrumental, I make up my own lyrics and sing to him about milk and poo etc.

second, some nice person has created some 30 min soundscapes of white noise and heartbeats, designed to recreate the sounds a baby hears in the womb, even down to the breathing pattern, and made them available as free downloads

Music required! Let's cut the solo concerto, how bout a prestissomo ff for baby's birth...like say fifteen basses, ten tenors, eighteen altos and twenty or so sopranos as backup to your joyful recital!!!

If I was you I'd check out some of his tracks on youtube, then you will have a better idea of what albums to get. Chakra Suite is a really good one if you're just after relaxing sounds.
