Is there a way to choose which codec VirtualDub uses when appending avi's? Looking for an easier way to convert files so my Ps3 can play them. It seems about half of the video's on here use Xvid codec or DivX. Only the DivX ones play easy for me.
I can convert them using PS3 Video 9. But it takes almost a full day tying up my slow computer.

Just to be clear...If you're wanting Virtual Dub to convert the files when appending, rather than using the Direct Stream option (which doesn't convert), it will still take a while like other converters.
To set the codec when converting, click the Video menu and click on Compression (Ctrl+P).
Then select Divx from the options in the left pane. You can also click the Configure button on the right, which will open the Divx converter config window for you to adjust the quality settings.
Just reencode them with drdivx using the "home theater" profile.
