Fact is we NEED to have pakistani forces deployed in this area,as this have longs been the Taliban "R&R" area,if we cant have our own forces there..I recall cold nights in A-stan when daily briefing upon daily briefings illuminated this problem,and the feeling of being "powerless" in the face of newly rested taliban fighters..

Well why we need to be there still isn't clear to me when one looks at who is saying we (eg NATO) need to. America is clearly trying to stay the superpower while fighting a self constructed/armed "enemy"/war under the guise of bringing democracy and peace while killing only the bad guys (what did they do again??). The most scary part is the american people (largest military force) swallowing this BS and picking up arms for a lie. Not directed at you maximius, we know your standpoint and involvement with the powers in question yet it's hard not to be (or perceived as) pointed at you.
