Hello people, I was having the same problem and I seem to have found a fix. It is working fine for me now. Just do as follows:

Go to "run", type in "regedit". That will open up your windows registry editor. You have to search this:

[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Internet Settings]

"ProxyEnable"=dword:00000001

change the value to 0 using regedit .

so it shows :

"ProxyEnable"=dword:00000000

A dumbed down version, not trying to be patronising but some people, like myself, need it...So run regedit, find HKEY_CURRENT_USER, then click on the following folders: Software>Microsoft>Windows>CurrentVersion>Internet Settings. Find the line which reads ProxyEnable, right click on it, then change the value which should say 1, to 0. Worked for me.

Hope this helps.

Holy crapola!! For over a year, I've been stuck with flash only videos, because Mozilla would crash. I tried your little fix, and BINGo! Tommy - YOU ARE THE MAN!!!!!

Sure I did, but what does that have to do with Tommy's fix helping me out? Don't try to piss on my excitement revolving around Tommy's genius.

Don't know if this helps--installed DivX 7 on a new laptop running 64 bit Windows 7--after messing around with various browsers (versions, etc.), I finally got an error message that the DivX Web Player was crashing!
Uninstalled DivX 7 software, went back and installed DivX Web Player version 1.4 (previous to 1.5 version included with DivX 7), and everything works fine now.
