so i have downloaded many MANY MANY codecs in the past few hours, and nothing is working, im trying to watch this video here http://www.mrbrownee70.com/?id=A41S9331U

every time i do i get a strange popping crackling mess for sound, its driving me crazy, other videos work just fine, i have been watching lots of stargate from there, but i cant for the life of me get this videos sound working right

i think the codec it uses is MPEG-4 AAC Audio but i could be totally wrong and epic fail at everything

i am very frustrated right now sad.gif

this is what it sounds like

The audio codec for that file is AC3 (which is pretty common now with alot of dvdrips)

Do you have the ac3 filter installed? If not you can find it here...

http://ac3filter.net/projects/ac3filter/releases

If you use TheKMPlayer (which can be found in my sig) or VLC you shouldn't need to install any codecs as they use internal codecs. What player are you using.

Did you reboot after installing it. You have to reboot. Are you streaming the file or have you downloaded it? If you've downloaded it I wouldn't recommend using the Divx player. It sucks. Get TheKMPlayer or VLC. Either way you have to reboot after installing the ac3 filter.

could you do me a favor and check the video and see if the sound works ok for you, i would hate to do all this and find out its not on my end
