Jamie Theakston and Zoe Ball are reunited for the first time in ten years for a brand new eight-part series.
Each episode sees contestants tackle five tasks, designed to test the specific functions of different parts
of the brain. In this installment, contestants including a doctor and a housewife vie for the chance to go
through to the final.
The series is sponsored by the maker of Big Brain Academy for the Nintendo DS, and the programme is
essentially a version of that game, scaled up to fit a TV studio. There's the usual face recognition, shape
deciphering and two-digit arithmetic, plus a couple of spinning chairs to disorientate the contestants.
Rush Zoe Ball straight from the set of Britain's Worst Frock, and the show more or less writes itself.
If you've ever sat at home watching Mastermind, and wished you could impress the cat by answering all
the questions quicker than the bloke on the telly, this show's for you.
