I don't doubt you may be right in some instances. I personally live in a 99% black area (a large government housing center is 4 houses down from me) and I've never once had an issue with anyone. When walking my dog, or just walking down to the liquor store for a 6 pack and a pack of cigarettes or just out mowing my yard. If anything most people are very friendly and if there not they don't bother you. I think it should be looked at more on an individual case to case basis. Or I could be the exception I don't know. I've just never had a problem.Maybe some people sense racism like a dog senses fear and just jump all over that?
I think that's a fair point,in the case of this program they put the two reporters into a place that they knew things would happen, that said halfway through, the lady had to travel 5 miles into what is one of the UKs worst estates,People will make up their own minds on what the motive for this was,i personally am of the opinion that they were not getting the footage that they wanted so had to step it up (put themselves into more dangerous places),and at the end of the day the only real Racism that they encoutered was from Kids & you can count on one hand the actual people they were verbally/physicaly attacked by.
If they put 2 white reporters into Manningham i can gaurantee you that they would need the Police on standby 100% of the time and said reporters would not need to travel outside of the area or engage the locals, because that is what the reporters were doing, the guy reporter was not twatted for being Asian like he claimed(allthough that helped) he was twatted because he just stood there staring at the lad.
How long do you think you could last (acting normally) in The Marcy Houses project Kuys (not long?) then try acting like those two reporters,if you acted like they were (placing themselves into sitiautions) you know you would end up dead.
All in all i thought this was a piss poor program & the fact that they could only get Kids and a couple of knobheads to react kind of proves Trevor Phillips' point (and i cannot stand that man).
Oh and showing the faces of those kids,no matter that they were horrible little bastards, was bang out of order.
