What's the error you're getting? Is it an error reading the file?

Well I'm not sure it's the same problem, but I've had a problem converting files from Replay Media Catcher before because the converting software wasn't able to read the file correctly.
Something to do with the header information being corrupt or missing, so the converting software didn't read the information it needed properly to know how to convert.

There may be a more simple way to fix the problem, but I was finally able to get it to work by using 3 free tools.
FLV Extract, MP4 Box and Yamb (which is a gui for MP4 Box). These tools would essentially repack the same audio and video stream from the flv into an mp4 container with proper header info, which could then be converted to an avi.

If you want to give it a shot, I'll post links and a tutorial for it tomorrow, it's too late at the moment smile.gif

Or if you want to upload one of the files you're having trouble with to megaupload and then PM the link to me I can see if I can figure out the problem.

Here is the link "http://milledrive.com/video3/29323/The_Proposal_2009_1_2.html" this is the first part of the movies i am not able to convert both part of the movie when i saw the codec information in vlc it showed there were 2 codecs Stream 0 :H264 STREAM 1:CODEC MP4a But if the movies is in mp4 format then why is it not playing in windows media player . And is there any other way to see the codec information in vidoes
So is it related to the codecs

The video codec is h264 and the audio codec is mp4a (similar to aac, I believe)
It won't play in Windows Media Player because you don't have the correct codecs intalled to play it. WMP relies on external codecs installed separately on your computer, where VLC comes with a set of internal codecs installed with it.

I'm not sure why Super is having trouble converting it, and I don't have the programs to download the file from milledrive.
You could try DrDivx to convert it, but I can't guarantee it will work since Super had problems with it, but DrDivx does usually handle mp4 files.

That being said, if you want to keep the same quality in an avi file it will probably need to be a little larger file size.

Good luck, sorry I don't know what else to suggest without having a copy of a file downloaded from Milledrive.

Hi,
you can download it from replay media catcher or orbit grab it try both anyone should work

And i am not able to convert it any of the converters i have not tried drdivx but i tried Total video converter & super & ojosoft total video converter none of them can open the file but the movie plays really well in vlc and high quality i hate to convert but want to see it in tv through the dvd player so want to convert it to any format playable on dvd player mp4 or avi . Is there any dvd player for tv which supports or plays flv or flash videos

Thanksssssssss

I tried both and older copy of replay and the latest version of orbit and neither worked for me, orbit could only find the swf of the player, not the actual video file.

If I understand correctly, the files have an .flv extension, but that just means they are in an flv container. The h.264 video codec is what is commonly found in mp4 containers, and the audio codec of mp4a I'm not completely sure of. If your dvd player will play mp4 files, then I would think it would be able to decode at least the video and possibly the audio.

One thing you could try is make a copy of the file and change the file extension of the file to .mp4 and then try it, though I don't know that it would actually work.
Repacking the video and audio into a proper mp4 container might work, not really sure.

Edit: Well I managed to save a file from Milledrive and did some testing, but unfortunately I've had no better results than you did.
Converting the flv file fails in Super and Total VC. So I repacked the audio and video into an mp4 container and tried to convert with Super, Total and DrDivx... again, none were successful.

Edit 2: I tried converting with Handbrake and it successfully converted the video, but had no audio. I tried converting the flv again with Super, but disabled the audio so it would only convert the video part and it worked as well. So it seems that it's the audio, which is using the aac codec, that is causing all the problems. However, I've yet to find a converter that can properly handle the aac. emoticon-0108-speechless.gif
My suggestion is if you want avi your best bet is to download avi, I don't think this is worth the headache lol There are several links for this movie in the Divx section, a 2 cd version and a 1 cd version.

Hi,
Thanksss you tried but my friend my inernet connection is just 300 kbps so avi file very large must be atlest 700 mb so it will take me atleast 6 hours to download the file so i prefer flv file but i prefer milledrive because it has high quality with minimum size

But my friend keep testing I am also trying try giving it to any of your techie friends see if they can figure out
I think we shouls use more of milledrive ecause of high quality and minimum size and megavideo also has 70 minutes restrictions
