Thanks saved me time... the premise sounds like it's been exhausted before.

I'm guessing we should expect a plethora of these 2012 designated movies to be coming out in the next couple years....

I'm kind of wary about watching this movie, but I think in a bit I'm going to give a shot... The only comment on IMDB makes it seem absolutely horrible, but I have watched a movie that rated a 1 and some change before, and watched the whole thing... Not that I enjoyed the movie (really after watching it I wanted to hunt down everyone involved in the film and beat my hour and a half lost in my life out of them.)
After I watch it, I'll let you know whether the comment was justified or not.
NOTE: Sorry mods, I accidently clicked report instead of reply, I am kinda drunk, I didn't notice lol... Thought you had changed the reply layout or something.
Okay, so I just finished watching it.. I suppose it was an alright movie, but the IMDB poster was correct in what they said, even missing somethings... The bloopers are such that even a college freshman wouldn't make, the production cost is obviously lower then usual, even for Asylum, and the only thing the IMDB poster gave credit to, was the CGI, and while it was done well, obviously no one did their homework, again, something even a college freshman knows...
A gamma ray burst is not a destructive force, like it is shown... It's just another form of light... A GRB can no more explode a rocky body then the radiation from the sun or even nuclear blasts can... If this were to happen, atmospheres would be destroyed, living tissue would be cooked, much like a microwave does to food, yet the CGI shows pluto and some moons exploding as the GRB hits, that just simply cannot and would not happen. So it's only redeeming factor as the poster put it, isn't even redeeming, it's just as cheesy and ridiculous as everything else.
I guess if you like the apocalyptic movies played on the Sci-Fi channel, then this is an alright movie, I've seen worse... But to anyone wary of Asylum movies already, you might just want to skip this one.
Thanks for the posts, I actually enjoy cheesy, low budget B-movies, don't let my post confuse the people who take the time to post, I do appreciate it, I just wanted to give everyone else fair warning.

Holy shit people. When there is a big blockbuster type movie being filmed there will invariably be three or four knock off movies made, with VERY similar titles. These movies go straight to DVD where they are bought or rented my moms who don't know better and idiots who don't look carefully enough at the packaging. These movies are not designed to be good.... so any review saying they are good are either lies or the product of heavy drinking or drug use.
Pirating and then sharing these movies is like digging for cat turd treasure.

Good guess....
Place your bets on the following scenarios.
1.. Faith-based. A few good Christians guided by the bible. Scientists worldwide running round like headless chickens, but converting to christianity in the end and the world is saved (except for non-chritians)
2.. Conspiracy Theory based. The military has the means to save the world, but to use it would expose the corruption of the system. Only a team of teenage geniuses and their dog, manage to save the day.
3.. Total Disaster based. Disaster has struck and the film has decent action for the first 5 minutes (to tie in with the action-mode soundtrack). The rest of the 2-hour film is taken up with soft solo piano accompanying heart-rending scenes. "Where is my son/daughter/mother/father/dog*" (*=delete as necessary) and somewhere along the way, a alchoholic preist finds his lost faith and the dog is
always saved.
The Statue of Liberty is always beaten up, but relatively intact as is the White House.
4.. Combinations of options 1, 2 and 3.

I watched 20 minutes and it sucks.
Pointless, unreal, bad acting cheap props and locations.
Typical Arab terrorists with Posh accent asking stupid question.
Typical Russian drunk scientist "from republic of vodka" !!!!
typical Chinese scientist with running propaganda "peoples republic of china"
and Typical American heroes with real cheap and silly dialogs.
some archive videos cut in to make it Sci Fi ish.

Same here, I'm looking for the hopefully "better" one starring John Cusak.
