It is with deep regret that we share this sad news with the QSS community...

This past Sunday Jimmy's family contacted us with some tragic news. On August 10^th Jimmy suffered a massive heart attack brought on by complications from the accident and passed away. His family took him home to Ireland and he was buried in his hometown on the 23^rd of August.

Jimmy leaves behind a wife, six daughters, his extended family and countless friends. His family has our deepest sympathies for their loss.

We will be taking QSS Forums and QSS Chat offline on November 7^th and having a moment of silence and a song on QSS radio for Jimmy followed by a "wake" in QSS Chat for anyone who wishes to attend. We'll have more information for you in the next week on the time and such. We will also be doing a few other things to honor him in the coming weeks and we'll let you know how you can each be a part of it.

Aww thats some really sad news. Ive been on QSS since around Day 1 and Jimmy was always one of the best members on the site, hes helped me a few times. Sadly i didnt really know him but this is a real tragedy and I just hope his family is managing through this ordeal.

I just looked at some of his last posts, mainly a thread where he came back from his accident on August 5th days before his tragic passing. He stated that he really missed everyone and was glad to be back, Its just too bad that he couldnt stay with us. That thread kinda shows how QSS has grown as a community, from the early days to where we are now. Rest in Peace my Pirate Friend!


One thing we can take solace in is that he is in a better place. Im sure that right now Jimmy is watching all the best movies that are being released now and in the future, and im not talkin cam quality. Only HD now, whatever he wants, whenever he wants it. I bet he's watching the Lost series finale right now!

Jimmy was a great person and I regret not getting to know him on the level alot of people here had. What I do know of him is that he loved and adored his girls like nothing else in the world. A real family man. He treated everyone here with a high level of respect. He was always in good spirits even during the bad times he was having. Always good for a laugh. He helped guide me when I first came to this site. He could talk your ears off for hours about the music he loved (in fact he did lol). I hope he is at rest now watching over his girls from a better place. We'll miss you Jimmy. Thank you for being our friend.

I didn't know Jimmy -- but that doesn't matter -- just knowing that he was a big part of Quicksilverscreen, and loved by all those who meet him is enough, for me to say " he was a good man, " who left smiles upon everyone's faces who he encountered. Knowing such a beautiful person would have been a blessing, and lesson on how to treat one another as brothers and sisters ... this my friend is what made Jimmy a living Legend -- his heart! And , I would like to say to Jimmies wife, extended family and friends that, whenever you find yourself missing Jimmy -- just look inside his beautiful daughters eyes -- and you all will see, that Jimmy left more than just movies and smiles -- but he bless us through his children, for us all to cherish -- the living Legend of Jimmy.
