This is the first few times posting here as I usually don't have much to say or haven't figured out how to contribute (Yet!). First off let me say, this is the ONLY site I use to get all of the great movies, tv shows, etc...under divx format. I just want to say thank you very much for everyone's hard work in getting the movies and such fantastic quality. Again, thanks!
With that being said, and I don't want to sound unappreciative but I'm unable to find this answer. I typically search and scour the internet to find my answer before asking and I've done just that, so now I figured I'd ask the great people of this site this question in hopes to find an answer. If you need a screen shot, please, just let me know and I can provide.
I'll describe as best as I can, and will probably end up being to wordy anyhow, but here goes:
Typically when I go to the Divx section and bring up a movie that I want, typically Megaupload, 2shared, and the occasional Stagevu and DivxDen. I got no problems after the movie buffered entirely I would right click on the movie and hit "Save video As..." and it would save it to my chosen destination. And then when I'm ready to watch them, I stream them via WMP to the Xbox 360 and watch them on my TV.
Now for some reason I don't know if something has changed but for the life of me here lately every movie (it seems) I right click and hit "Save video as..." it gives me an error that says that (Not exact but you get the picture) "The Video could not be saved to the current location using Divx Windows Player. Please recheck the permissions and try your request again..." Again, that's not verbatim but pretty darn close.
Now with that being said, what I have done is looked in my "Temporary Downloaded Files" it's usually there, now I get these strange .ddat or .ddmk extension garb in there that I'm sure help compose the movie but they are all separated out. I fought like hell getting Paranormal Activity to download last night, and I had to delete all the crap files in the Temp Download Files folder and then rebuffer the movie and then hit save as, gave me an error, then I went back into Temp Folder again and it was there as being a Divx file. Craziest thing ever. Same way with Surrogates. Wouldn't download until I deleted all the extra crap.
So my question is this: Is there anything that I need to change in my settings (I am using FF v3.5.3) to correct the Permissions to be able to download the movies again?
Again, thanks for all the awesome posters for movies, I have literally downgraded my cable to just the basics with DVR and internet, saving 40 bucks a month using Quicksilverscreen. And I promote the hell out of the site to friends/family for movies and shows.
PS- Thanks to anyone in advance for sitting through this garble to answer my question, I thank you kindly!

You can maybe try withouth of Clicking **save as** just right click on divx player and on General in section Download chose where to save files **Desktop** and then Check on **Auto Save All Video Downloads** UNCHECK** **Create One Sub-Folder Per Website** and
**Alert Me When Auto-Saving Files** sou you wont have to do every time **Save File As..** Maybe it works

Ps:: you can Uncheck **Enable the Download Cache**

I believe the .ddat file method of caching started with the Divx Web Player 2.0, which is a beta, so there are some glitches. Perhaps that's why the Save Video As isn't working properly.
As for the Temporary Downloads Folder, you can save the file from there, that's how I do it. There are 3 files in there... ddat, dmsk, and dinfo... for each file you download.
Once the video has fully downloaded (so that the Save Video As link is available), the ddat file will automatically rename to the original file name (name.avi, quicksilverscreen.avi, etc)... but ONLY after the browser window with the player is closed.
So close the browser once it's downloaded, go to the Temporary Downloads Folder, find the video file and move it to another folder. Failure to move it to another folder will result in it being overwritten the next time you stream a file.
Also, if for some reason the file fails to finish downloading or some glitch causes it not to automatically rename, the .ddat file (like the .part files) can be manually renamed by replacing .ddat with the appropriate video file extension (again, browser must be closed first and file must be moved after renaming if you want to keep it).

greeniz and grumph, thanks that helped a bunch. It's definitely different than what I'm used to but hey, can't complain about free, right? Well I closed down the browser and it didn't change, however I took the .ddat file and just changed it to an .avi extension, and it worked like a charm. Audio perfect, video perfect, just something I truly didn't know.
I will say though, something is different. I mean something has changed with something sometime or another. Up until 2-3 nights ago, I just used the save video as and it worked just fine. Now with that being said, again I'm not complaining by any means just stating a factoid.
Anyhow, thanks a bunch, so far so good. 1 movie worked, 1 tv show didn't but I think I just need to get the hang of it first.
Thanks again!

*quick update*
The above method works sometimes and other times it won't.
What I mean is, sometimes when I close down the browser it erases the .ddat file (Which is normally around 700mb, the average size of a divx/avi file) and the 3 files disappear and I can't save the movie. So I thought about before I close down the browser, to copy them. That doesn't work because windows can't find the original spot where they are located and can't paste them. (Vista blows...) And then my 3rd option was naming the .ddat file, cut the file move it over so it's not trying to find the original place where it's located and finish....wrong. Windows says that it's still being moved and can't find the original. So some movies work, and some don't. Again, NO complaints, just putting an update.

**Last Update**
So I uninstalled my current version of Divx Web Player and googled an older version of the Divx web player 1.8.4, downloaded, installed, and tried the shows/movies again. Back to the way it was, so the thing that changed was when I reformatted my computer I re-downloaded the Divx player and the divx web player updated it to the beta 2.0. Getting rid of the 2.0 gets rid of the problem, and Viola! Fine~! Fixed. Thanks again for atleast pointing me into the right direction. I appreciate all the info....

humm, why not just use FireFox and the DownloadHelper plugin to save all the vids to where ever you want. No need to dig through folders and rename the vids in one shot. Just a suggestion of course.

Well, I have them being saved to a designated folder because I have my laptop networked to my xbox 360, which is where I watch the movies on my big screen. Renaming them only takes just a few seconds, however thanks for the helpful hint crypto...
