Hi ! just wondering what you folks do about having to pay for megavideo accounts . obviously we can watch for free but are limited to 70+ minutes unless we pay 9.99 a month for unlimited viewing.

Just wanted to know if there was another way of doing this . or if there is another way of watching without Megavideo ?

I use this after someone suggested it to me. It's handy enough:

My preference, Firefox with download helper. I give it a few minutes and then just play the .part file using VLC(it will download while watching).

megastreaming hangs for me so i got to wonder how a stream would look.

Boycott megavideo all together, its a jip. you have to time yourself for the timer and find the place you left off. There are plenty of alternatives for storage and many people here use them, I don't have any problems finding the vids without megacrap.

Pay. It's worth it.

Kaball it really is. I mean, come on. Not only do you get megavideo with that payment, you get premium megaupload, and if you've got premium megaupload, you've got url tranfer to your account. Upload shit tons of vids and post em here, viola, you've earned enough points to keep that premium account for another month. Every time something new comes out, url transfer that bad boy to your megaupload account. Post the megaupload avi in our divx section, post the megavideo flv version in our "mixed bag" sections, and before you know it, your one month payment has turned into years of free premium. Also, once you have premium you won't ever have to worry about that damned timer and you can forget about having to post in those, "awww man I'm having trouble with mrbrownee70 megaupload links" threads. lol.

Well I won't argue with SEB cuz I don't know much about either megavideo or megaupload. I will say that if you do decide to pay and start posting links at lest warn people about the timer if the vid is longer then 64mins. To post a link claiming its the full video when it is only 64mins is a scam, its called Bait & Switch and in my opinion a bad link. That timer has kicked in at the most important parts of shows and too have a 1hr "commercial break" during a climatic scene is totally despicable emoticon-0121-angry.gif

Sorry to say man but the 2nd file doesnot always play so download helper is sometimes waste of time and you cannot also fast forward the second file

I would say the other way fella. I used to upload to megavideo and megaupload with just a normal account a couple of years ago. I stopped for a while and went back and started again, looking at my account lo and behold i had 6 months worth free due to the points you garner from uploads. I find that easy to keep up to keep the whole premium thing free to the point i now sometimes i wish i'd held back for a bit and got free cash from it too.

Megavideo on it's own is NOT worth paying for as there are so many workarounds ranging from simple router resets to grabbing a megaupload link from the megavideo one and watching it in proper avi. If i hadn't discovered and had the means to get premium megaupload for free i probably would have paid at some point, but there was no need.

Edit : Hmm - On second thoughts, if you normally just watch then paying for a month might be beneficial if you want quick access to the free full service and dont mind uploading enough to keep it running for free. My perspective is probably skewed through uploading then not using the service for a number of months then coming back n being offered free stuff. You really dont need to upload a whole lot to get a free month or six, if what you're uploading is popular and gets a lot of views then it can be fast accumulating.
