Episode One-The Family Of LoveExamines the family life of Fred and Rose West, and the violence and abuse that went on within it, as well as the sexual perversion. Considers the stream of lodgers and how they got away with murdering and hiding the bodies of so many women without being caught. Looks at their arrest in 1973 for the kidnap and sexual assault of a young woman and how the five youngest children were taken into care in 1992 after West was accused of videotaping the rape of one of his daughters. It was interviews with the children that first led to Social Services and the police believing their sister Heather was buried under the patio. Includes recordings of Fred West talking about his family and what went on in the house.
Episode Two-The First KillingsLooks at the background and upbringing of Fred West, revealing one of family physical and sexual abuse and incest. Follows his life after he left home and his first marriage and his subsequent relationship with Anna McFall. Also, how he murdered both of them and buried them in fields near his family home of Much Marcle, Gloucestershire.
Episode Three-The Cromwell Street KillingsLooks at how the bodies buried at the home of Fred and Rose West were first discovered, initially with police believing they were just searching for the body of his missing daughter Heather, but then unearthing far more. Looks at the abusive lifestyle of the West family and some of their vicitims. Includes interviews with the forencsic pathologist on the case, and news footage from the time and recordings of Fred West's intial denials then confessions.
