I watched the first episode of this drunk last weekend and ended up watching it again, along with the rest of them last night. Not sure whether it was the mood i was in or not but i enjoyed the first episode but started getting a little bored during the others. Slater is good as always but i felt the show was lacking something.

I don't get it. This is kinda a middle of the road show, it should appeal to a lot of people. I heard it was in danger of getting canned last December and, then heard that ABC ordered an extra set of episodes of it, now I hear it is ending it's scheduled run early.
The show isn't really that bad. I really dig the concept of it at least. The Donovan back story tied the whole thing together and made the show believable. Yes it is a stretch that a group of civilians would be so intertwined with the police in the manner that this group is, but Alex is a former cop medically retired from what I can gather. As far as I am concerned having a retired cop help with identifying unknown persons like this isn't to far of a stretch of logic for me considering the whole story. Some of the episodes are a little far fetched though. I mean finding a persons identity that is here on a visitors visa is as simple as running their prints in this post 9/11 era.. That is way more reasonable then lucking into it the way they did.
I don't know it is kinda sad to see that this show which doesn't seem to stir up a major controversy, or placate the masses entirely just to make a buck, slips into the void of ambiguity. I guess Chris is gonna have to reprise his role of Happy Harry Hard on and get some front page news with a onslaught of radio piracy to gain some notoriety.
Man what is the world becoming?
