Hi Guy and Gals, Was wondering if anyone knew how to make my volume louder on my HP Entertainment Laptop. My volume is at 100 and I still can't hear it (I do have bad hearing but this is ridiculous) I had plugin Speakers, but my Dog got a whole to them and chewed the wire! Any Tricks up your sleeves until I can get to go get a new pair of Speakers? Thanks in Advance, SouthernGal

take some wire strippers and some black tape to join the wires your dog has chewed apart, they are color coded inside the outer plastic coating. if there is a section that the dog has just chewed but not the whole way through you can just cut that section out.

when you join the wires back together make sure the little strands from each seperate wire do not touch each other.

join one wire together at a time and then insulate each strand well before moving onto joining the next wires. i have repaired many chewed upon wires and it is simple and can be fun once you have fixed up your speakers yourself without buying new ones.

What are you using as a player application?

Until you fix/replace your external speakers, you might want to consider VLC. It will allow you to increase volume up to 400%. Not the best thing to do to maintain high fidelity of the original sound source, but if you're playing through laptop speakers, that's not really going to be a major issue. You can increase/decrease volume "on-the-fly" by using the ctrl-up arrow/ctrl-down arrow key combinations (for Windows) or the command-up arrow/command-down arrow key combinations(for Macintosh) respectively. You can also set it as your volume default.
