well since I started out using photoshop in 1989 on a mac IIfx I can tell you that you have chosen the right program to learn... I also used to teach it professionally so I know this thread wont come close to explaining it... but I can give you a few "quick" pointers...
first...
learn how to use google or die...
http://www.google.com/search?q=photoshop+tutorials&rls=com.microsoft:en-us:IE-SearchBox&ie=UTF-8&oe=UTF-8&sourceid=ie7&rlz=1I7SUNAa simple query "photoshop tutorial" turned up thousands of tutorials...
second...
RTFM (read the fucking manual)
I cant stress that enough... read the help file front to back and then do it again... you have chosen to learn the best... put some effort into it...
third...
learn the keyboard shortcuts as best you can... other than being useful they will help you learn the program...
photoshop is a TWO HANDED program (kind of like playing a video game)
fourth...
learn about resolution, it is so important along with color balance, unsharp mask and how to use the levels command (it really enhances a photo)
fifth...
never ever work in .jpg format... work in .psd (native photoshop) format... open a .jpg and then resave it first thing to .psd
you can compare .jpg files to printed pages... they are the end product...
sixth...
RTFM (again and again)
hope that helps...
remember...
RTFM... Thanks for the reply,
I love goggle but alot but when I did my own search I came up with alot of $ based lessons.
And as far as a manual I dont have one. So I cant RTFM. But Thanks for the help though, I'll just try to figure it out on my own.
