Roy Nelson got Kimbo in a bad position TWICE, he just doesn't have the knock out ability, remember in the house when he was saying "even if they are light punches the ref has to stop it"....is that really the kind of fighter that thinks he can be UFC champ.
Kimbo has more potential, he needs to work on his ground game and take down defense but clearly he can be good if given the proper training and enough time.
Its like Brock vs Mir II, we all know who had the most technical skill in that fight but Brock was just too big, once he pinned Mir down and locked up his arms it was all over. Like Rampage said "none of us could get Roy off us". It wasn't a thrilling fight, it was like a school yard fat ass bully sitting on a kid and slapping the back of his head hardly a display of an Ultimate Fighter.
A couple of things I would like to point out. 1st off the TUF competitions are not for people who will be straight away recognised as title contenders s the "is that really the fighter tht thinks he can be UFC champ" comment is out of context, they are there to get a contract with the UFC, not win the championship.
As for Kimbo having more potential, thats ridiculas, he's a brawler with some KO power. Roy Nelson has a lot mre potential, he has similar standing skills to Kimbo but without the power and a bit less reach. Roy however is 10x the fighter Kimbo will ever be when it comes to the ground game. Roy Nelson was beating Andrei Arvlofski in Affliction and had him in side control until the ref stood them up wrongly and AA KO'd him.
Brock Lesnar and Frank Mir is not a good comparison at all. Compairing Kimbos ground game to Mirs is a joke. Roy Nelson is MUCH better than Kimbo on the ground.
As for my thoughts on this fight, I think Kimbo looked half decent standing but he's a fish out of water when he's on his back. The ref gave Kimbo every chance to improve his position but he didn't. Some refs would have stopped the fight at the end of the 1st round. Nelson went in with a great strategy (remember they don't have weeks to study their opponents or train for these fights), he won without taking any real damamge. People might complain tht they were weak punches, but it doesn't matter, if Kimbo isn't defending himself then the ref HAS to stop the fight.
