It's 1975, and a young married couple - Vietnam vet Burt (David Anders of Alias and Heroes) and preacher's daughter Vicki (Kandyse McClure of Battlestar Galactica) - are driving cross-country straight into the heartland of Hell.

A remake/re-imagining of the original film, which was based on the Stephen King short story, Children of the Corn stars McClure as Vicky and David Anders (Heroes) as Burt, a couple at a marital crossroads who wind up driving into the middle of nowhere only to encounter some deeply strange and deadly kids out there among the corn rows.

***Remake supporters rejoice! Another old horror franchise is getting remade, oh joy! This time around it's Children of the Corn that's up for a new interpretation, which isn't really news at all since there has actually been one in the works for the past couple of years, but without it really getting anywhere. Apparently Dimension Films wants that to change now and has put their trust in the brand by bumping the movie up from previously being made as a direct-to-DVD flick, to now becoming a full-fledged theatrical feature.

I liked it, enjoyed the bickering couple, thought the dude was very patient, enjoyed the creepy kids, the passionate little psycho preacher and the mystery of the dead boy. The first still rocks, but this ones not bad

so you're able to judge an entire movie on 10 minutes... amazing, you're surely a greater person than I.

Even though I am a huge fan of the original movie, I really really liked this one. I especially liked that they used the same music. That music was always very creepy I thought. And You are right about it being a perfect copy of the short story. I didn't read the short story of Children of the Corn until a couple of years ago and was blown away about how the original movie was completely different. In the remake I actually felt sorry for Malachi. He wasn't the little brat power hungry punk. He was simply a follower and somewhat a leader, but in the end, you can see he had some doubt on what was going on.

Over all I give this movie an overall 4 stars, especially for a tv movie. I hope they make some more, that is just is good.

The movies that have stayed true to the stories have always been better. I love the original Shining but the made for tv movie had much more depth, and Rebbecca De Mornay
