Al Jazeera: Exclusive! - was a straight-forward retelling of the story of the war to topple Saddam Hussein, through the eyes of the world’s only independant worldwide Arab news channel. But it revealed as much about Western media bias as it did about Al Jazeera. Based in Doha, Qatar, and under the control of wily news editor Ibrahim Hilal, Al Jazeera scored exclusives which were so highly in demand that Hilal was forced to personally remonstrate with Sky News when they transmitted Al Jazeera footage without permission. The channel was shown to be efficient, speedy, and resourceful - although not always accurate, as the incident with the search for the ‘downed pilot’ in Baghdad showed.
