Im glad you brought this subject up because I have an idea. SInce its only out for two weeks and they will be hounding the internet as well as theaters, maybe we should have a different name for the movie now and then when enough ppl see the name we can delete it. I have a feeling if someone does get a chance to tape it in the theaters, it will get deleted in no time, probably record time

Maybe the moderator or creator of this site can come up with a different name (use an old movie name) and put it under documentary or concert instead of new movie release for the time being.

I know one thing, I refuse to pay for it only because I dont want AEG to get any money off of his death. I would even pay the site owner via paypal here to prove money has nothing to do with it. This is going to be huge and Michael was only 3 yrs my senior. I followed him for 45 plus years! He got me through alot of things via his music.

What do you think of this idea?

I for one will never waste my money or time to see this movie. I am glad he is dead and I hope his music fades like his pathetic career did
Aceron
I could care less about his reputation. I didn't think his music was all that. Shrug....

Acclaim does not equate with excellence. While Jackson was a good singer and a very good dancer, that's not what he should be remembered for. Recall the summary of Fred Astaire, "Good dancer, so-so singer." Eleanor Powell and Ginger Rogers are said to have done everything Astaire did, but backwards and wearing high heels. When Jackson did his videos, others were dancing just as well along side him.

The unique talent Jackson had was the same unique talent Astaire and Gene Kelly had. Those three envisioned scenes no one else had imagined. They created the dance routines that others could only emulate. No one has ever improved on their creations. Simply put, Michael Jackson is the greatest choreographer of his time combining singing, dancing, computer graphics on a technical scale unmatched in film.

He had one more unique gift that perhaps was not a "talent": presence. He changed the emotions of a room when he walked in. People expected the unexpected and his ability to create never disappointed.

His personal flaws damaged many lives. He is given a pass simply because of the money machine he was. I am not sure he had many true friends and he reminds me much of Mike Tyson. Two people who each generated over a half a billion dollars in revenue and two people who needed money.

I will pass on the movie as well.

housefan1962
For anyone to say "im glad he/she is dead" is nothing short of disrespectful. What did this man do to you? Have you not seen the accuser come forward and admit it was a ruse for money and apologize? If you had that responsibility on your back, you would be strange too. Nobody deserves to die the death Michael endured. We are all human

by that you certainly mean that he had millions and millions of dollars and a giant studio backing him with choreographers, directors, and artists.

where its put and how its named isnt going to make a difference since we arent the ones hosting the content.

anyway, i could give 2 shits about this. musicwise and whatnot its just gonna be another 2pac thing. and his music sucks too...

He sure did! However, giant studios will back anyone and supply choreographers, directors and artists. It still need the genius of someone like Astaire or Kelly to bring something unique to the stage. Jackson did as well. Judy Garland and Elvis also self destructed but managed to do so without building a modern day equivalent of The Brothers Grimm creation of a gingerbread house for children.

His personal failings, regardless of his own upbringing, are simply too much for me to overcome and while I did not celebrate his death, I will pass on the deification efforts of those who stand to make yet another fortune.

i think its hypocrite.

people ridiculed jackson when he was alive and now they wanna try and make a friggin saint out of him?

and that docu isnt to pay respect its just another way for the big guys to grab as much money as they can.

michael jackson is dead dont make such a big deal out of it. all he did was make music(and if you believe the other shit he also liked to molest kids)

i think that they shouldnt talk bad about him but they also shouldnt make a saint out of him.

and all the people that talk like "oooh michael was such a good person"or "i loved michael"are mostly those who loved all the gossip and started most of it themselves.

if people truly want to pay respect to mj i think they should do it by letting all of it rest!

i say spend your cash in a better way! give it directly to kids that need help... or to help animals... or homeless people... or whatever good cause.

King my arse & i'd bet my left bollock that it'll be on for more than 2 weeks that's just to get the morons to part with there cash quicker than normal.

I'd have more respect if they said every penny was going to charity but neither the Jacksons or the management would be willing to do that.

AND

Jordoro
I won't be seeing it.
housefan1962
Are you aware that he made the guiness world book of records for charity donations , infact, 3 billion dollars, yes you read it right, 3 billion!

If anyone would like to take afew moments to watch his old "jackson variety show" (i believe its on youtube) you can see how he started with his ideas of music videos in the early 70's. This man had a special talent and gift for music and that cannot be denied. You can write that his music sucked but that is only because you either like playing devils' advocate or you just cant stand that someone had such great talent and only wanted to make ppl happy. This often happens with people who love to share their talents with the world.

I must agree with most of you one point....I believe there is an agenda and I will not pay for this movie at the theaters. People just want to make money off of him. Ohhh...I never didnt not take his side the whole time. I was on his side his whole life.

Sometimes there are very few people in life that can affect other people. Michael was the person who affected me. Whether it was exercising to his music, playing his tape to get me through a huge rain storm while traveling late at night or just putting a smile on my face when hearing "Rock with you" or "Ill be there"

Say what you will but I know deep down inside this man was truly a gift that entertained millions of people. Yes, he spiraled down with a drug addiction but that only proves one thing....he was only human. Im finished with this thread so dont worry, I wont bore you with any more posts on the subject. Its just a shame that people can be so judgemental and disrespectful. All of us make mistakes or do things we shouldnt do in life. ITs not his fault he became that famous. He didnt ask for this. He just wanted to make music. As usual, it was the media

HA HA HA i'm sorry but Jackson Wackos crack me up,we will ignore the fact that Warren buffett gave away $30.7 billion, yes you read it right $30.7b infact we will also ignore all the others who have given away Billions of which Jackson has never been one, hell we will also ignore the fact that Jackson never in his life time earnt $3b

We will ignore all of that and just do some simple math,Jackson only really started earning his own money after he turned 20 as before that it got spread around the familly with the largest wedge going to Papa Joes whore fund & Mrs J's Joehovah payments, now he died at 50 so that is 30 years.

$3000,000,000 / 30 = $100,000,000 per year.

Are you realy claiming with a straight face that Jacksons average charitable contributions were $100m per year over the course of his adult life ?

Before you answer remember that most of his net worth was due to some incredible investments with the majority of it coming from his Beetles catalogue & also understand that supporting a charity does not always equate to giving.

Jackson always was a master of spin (and an admirer of Hitler)

Im glad something affected your life, for the better, in such a profound way, but I gota call you a Donkeys Ass for this one.

You are of course entitled to your opinion of the (and any) man, but being a closed minded ass and not accepting others opinions is retarded.

I hated Jacksons music since I was a child. Found it very annoying and never liked it. Not his music, voice, choreography, 'acting'. He brought on the wave of Pop Music that I utterly despise, and is the reason I have never been much to listen to the radio. (Puff Daddy also falls under this)

Do I think he molested kids?I dont know, and I dont care.

Was he talented? Sure, to some. But to me, he sucked. Same way people can love/hate banjo music or a movie. Talent is judged by the viewer. Because millions of people, a panel of 3 or 4 judges, or a Music tv channel says a person is talented, doesnt make it so. He/she is Talented TO THEM.

Did he do good with charities and shit? Well, a quick google came up with answers from 300 Million-500+ Million. So yes, of course he did great things with charities. But In MY Opinion that puts him in the same category as the little old lady that donated 40 bucks to her local fire department. Gave what they could, when they could. Good for them, but even though his amount was xxxx as much, it doesnt make him better then the little old lady. He just had access to more then her.

THIS.

The last time I heard anything about him notworthy was the dangling of his child from a balcony around 4 years ago. Now everyone is "OMG WE WILL MISS YOU, WE LOVE YOU!"?!?!?!?!?!?

Although I like his music and respect him as an artist, I still find the whole kiddie fiddling shananigans disgusting to respect him as a person. He was an aboslute crackpot and I could care less about his life ending... good riddence is all I have to say.
J35Jazz
When a star comes on stage and asks people to donate money and they do, that's great. But please keep in mind that "We Are the World" did not raise $60 million dollars by Jackson writing a check. He is given credit for "raising" the money. But, YOU made the donation.

The greatest amount of money to my knowledge donated to charity coming out of personal funds of an entertainer is Paul Newman. Every nickel of the money made by Paul Newman food products goes to charity. The company has made almost $300 million dollars in profits, all going to charity. NewmansOwn

Newman's charitable work dwarfs that of Jackson in quantity and quality. Neither he nor anyone who loved him ever had to brag about how much he gave. He set the company up and never said another word about it. That's class.

Thanks for the thoughtful, erudite and insightful assessment of his talents. I have never met the man so can only base my opinion on how his media affected the culture in which I was raised. Although I don't care for much of his music, I can't deny his talents and the profound effect they had on the world of music and music video. Well Said.
TheHatedMenace
Nobody will ever really know if he molested little boys but all I can say is he fu*ked Lisa Marie Pressley so shit MJ is da man in my opinion! That girl fine! Anyways I've always liked his music and dance moves too and it's pretty sad how he died. An overdose of a sleeping drug? Jesus Christ Michael all you had to do was take some damn anxiety pills and drink alittle and smoke some bud and you woulda slept like a baby man! WTF Pretty stupid way to go out especially since he was gettin ready to go on tour again. Poor guy's heart was probably so bad from all the anxiety of possible prison sentences he just couldn't handle high doses of sleeping meds. But anyway whether he touched little boys or not dude had his own fked up way of life and all I can say is may god have mercy on his soul and not condemn him to hell for the life he lived if it's true. Wouldn't wanna wish hell on anybody. I'm definitely watching this documentary tho. God Bless ya Mike I hope you prayed for forgiveness before you went.

I like reading about everyones different opinions, disrepectful or not its an opinion and this is what this website is about. I agree that AEG and Kenny Ortega (Choreographer/Director of several Michael Jackson stage shows and High School Musical?? (says it all really) are looking for money to make outta this "film/Doc" whatever you want to call it. But on the other side, its a chance for his fans to see what they would have seen at the O2 in London for his 50!! dates.

I've watched the film/doc and, i have to say that the concert itself would have been spectacular and very Michael Jackson, everytime he does a show it gets bigger and better but then if u throw enough bananas at the monkeys they will perform.

Michael Jackson's past has come under ridicule from the media, fans, music critics and even from his own family and friends. This film/doc IS NOT about his life or the controversy surrounding him its about the production and stage show that was set to take place this year before his untimely death.

Im writing a book about music and how it effected history and culture and there is no denying that Michael Jackson along with others such as Elvis and The Beatles have changed and shaped the way is working today FACT!! If it wasnt for some prolific musical scenes and changes coming through then maybe the world would be a very different place. John Lennon was victimized in America for saying that the Vietnam war should never have taken place and Nixon was a war monger. Elvis just walking into the WHite House and demanding he become a special FBI law enforcer (and he got it). Michael Jackson sleeping in a hyperbaric chamber and then phoning the National Enquirer and telling them that he had pictures and it was all part of the old Razzle Dazzle.

If you look at it Michael Jackson inspired the POP Culture we have today, what other musical star has changed their appearance so much from going from black to white and have so much plastic surgery that his face was falling apart?

When u look at Michael Jackson's musical career he started out at the age of five with his brothers and due to the fact that his father was a slave driver and serial womaniser if u didnt do what Papa Joe said u got beat the hell out of. So music was Michaels only escape.

No other musical artist of my generation has had more news stories and controversy written about them and also has had more critical and commercial sucess with their music with albums such as Thriller, Bad and Dangerous. This you cannot take from the man he wrote great POP music and he was and still is adored all over the world.

Yes there is mystery surrounding his death and it is unusual for a man of 50 with a career like that to suddenly die with 50 dates coming up in London but im sure it made a great epitaph to Michael Jacksons long and some time tempestoious life career.

Let the fans have their moment and let people enjoy the film

And people keep talking about how much money the family will get for the profits of this film, well...................
I hope the kids get it and have a "normal" life, Michael was their dad and they obviously loved him and they need to have a life too, and maybe having the last few days of their dads life on film will be a bit of comfort for them to see what a talented man he was.

Kenny Ortega will get his money for this so will AEG but Michael also left substantial amounts of debt behind which is documented in the press everyday, whether they are to be beieved or not he still owes a shit load of money, Michael spent money like water maybe thats due to the fact he was bi-polar and had an addictive personality (who knows).

As is said let the fans have their moment and continue to enjoy his music, i myself like Michaels music however, i cant ignore the things that have been written about him and thats for me to decide whether i believe them or not, and its not for anybody else to make a decision for me.

If you watch the film/doc then enjoy if you dont then THIS IS IT!

I don't speak up much on the forums....with the exception of the occasional "Here's the link." or "Hey, this link is dead." posts...but I just feel the need to put my 2 cents in here.

I just can't, in good conscience have anything to do with this particular film. His music, sorry to say, was nothing special. Nor was his career when you consider that without the rest of his whack-o family, he'd've never made it past the first audition. He started out as a 'child' star, and never grew out of it.

I've also never had -any- respect for people who change just because that's what the masses demand, and he went -way- beyond what most artists are willing to go through (A transformation from a black man, to a white...elf?), just to secure a fan base and keep that repugnant mass of plastic and botox in the limelight. To me, that's not talent...that's flat out sell out. Nothing more than another music-industry whore, selling his soul for cash.

As if that weren't enough to keep me away, then we have his paedophilia fetish...which should've earned him an execution, either at the hands of the state, or the hands of the kid's parents. The fact that he cranked out enough money to the kid's family to shut everyone up, doesn't change the fact that anyone with any common sense, knows he's guilty as sin...and there was more than one accuser...keep that in mind. If I remember right, he eventually fled the country to escape the persecution, though I'm sure there's another reason listed on record for appearances sake. And don't even try and brag about his charity donations...Mafia bosses donated a lot of money to charity in their neighbourhoods too, does that make up for the half dozen bodies they hacked to pieces and 'disposed of' that same morning?

Well, I've rambled on long enough and I probably won't even come back to this thread, but there's my standpoint on the whole thing. I don't care where the proceeds for the thing are going, it doesn't matter. I'd rather seem selfish, and hand my money directly to some charity worker, than stain my reputation and my conscience by having anything to do with a company that profits from a paedophile. I'm glad he's dead, good riddance, may he burn for eternity.
