is it just me or was that epi rly rly bad. i mean not just bad but total crap. i like the idea of the cleavlend show and i love family guy but i could hardly make myself watch the whole thing it was just 23mins of pure crap imo
huxathon
that was just awful, couldn't make it to the end.
blaz3d
i thought it was pretty good, those people who think it was bad it can only get better no?
blaz3d
yep rolo looks pretty cool sort of a pimp stewie ! i do agree family guy was tailing off but i really enjoyed the last few episodes,

im hoping the cleveland show will freshen everything up, i wonder if they wil still use some of the other family guy characters from time to time, might be quite fun if they do it right.

The creators of Family Guy should just stick to Family Guy. What is the point of creating a "new" show, when it's really pretty much exactly the same thing they've been doing all along, with a different name? Kind of lame, if you ask me. If Family Guy was starting to get crappy, what makes this show any less crappy? It's the same shit, different pile.
nicknick
I hope they keep this spin off, family guy has gotten better the last few seasons and this is a very good pilot episode (much better than the family guy pilot.)
It does have the family guy template but that could very easily change as the series grows into its own thing.

Well, this does have a different feel then Family Guy. The biggest difference is that The Cleveland Show doesnt have all those random flashes that Family Guy is known for. This means unlike Family Guy, which seems like random skits sewn together, Cleveland might be more story driven(albeit not very deep storylines im sure). Ill definetely give it a chance but I wouldnt rate the Pilot any higher then a 7, and I feel thats being generous. I agree that the creators should just focus on salvaging Family Guy instead of branching out so much, but that goes to show how desperate Fox is as a network to fill their timeslots. They signed Seth Macfarlane to a $100 Million contract so im sure they want to get their moneys worth, even if that means pumping out inferior products...

This is the third cartoon I know of, American Dad is a good show if you give it a chance. I think that The Cleveland Show is a good idea because it means twice the amount of episodes and possibly a new character for Family Guy. Now there is another show to compete with Futurama coming back next year.

I think the show will get better once they cycle through all the possible black stereotypes they can muster...i mean there are shit loads to choose from. i just hope they balance it with positive ones too. maybe insert some african-american history to boot.

Yeah I didnt really like it. Hopefully fox can put dump this and replace it with Futurama.

From what I seen in this episode, it had 2 or 3 flash backs tongue.gif

I like it - Anything to do with family guy is fantastic to me though, so I'm biased. Can't wait for the next ep, thanks for sharing! smile.gif

It was alright, I can't see Celeaveland or the son being too popular and the show may have to rely on the baby and neighbours to draw viewers. Didn't think the first episode was going to air til September so it's a nice surprise that it came along now.

well the episode no doubt was leaked intentionally, im sure the network/producers just want to get some feedback. I wouldnt doubt it if the episode that airs in September has some changes based on viewers opinions. Nows the time to get the series right, they can make major changes now if needed, it cant be done once the series gets rolling. Im not exactly sure what I would change but hopefully they can make the show better.

Would have though Stewie would have been a funny choice

TV Guide:
FOX may have granted Family Guy spin-off The Cleveland Show a full-season order, but apparently the tradeoff is a delayed premiere.

The new animated comedy from Seth MacFarlane will not be seen by viewers until fall 2009.

FOX originally announced a late spring premiere for Cleveland at the network's upfront presentation. However, now it seems that network brass was using the announcement as good PR for the new schedule while fully intending to further develop the show before it hit the air.

The first of the 22 episodes ordered into production will air in the 2009-10 television season.

That would be called "Family Guy."

It would still be the same show. Most episodes of Family guy are either about Stewie or feature a subplot about Stewie.

Hmmmmm, yaaaar

I only just started to appreciate family guy, and it's popularity in my eyes was on a razors edge. Bring out the aforementioned, and it's just slipped into nowheresVille
