Is it just me or do these guys get way too much credit? Overly hyped, uncomfortable, and at most times boring. I just don't get it. They are a bad substitute for Terry Gilliam.

I can admit that they have something in their writing... but they need a different director or editor to actually make their stuff entertaining.

It's not just you mate,Fargo and Millers Crossing aside i cannot stand there work it's like they're trying to hard to prove how intelligent they are,Film snobbery imo and it's ruined them.

Why would you compare them to Terry Gilliam? How can you claim they are ruined? They are two of the most respected directors in hollywood.

personally i hated Fargo, it pissed me off to end, eepecially since the cop broke the law pretty much half the time she was investigating. but they definately have some great movies as well. I think it just comes down to one thing...the Coen brothers are an acquired taste in the film industry. thats just my thought
