this i believe started as a hack but has worked its way up in the world.
it is basically a panel applet that works for any gtk app.
it takes the menu bar off the window and sticks it on the panel like mac

in action. this is a shot of my ubuntu using global menu. you'll see i've placed the menu
on the bottom left hand panel, but it can go anywhere on your panels. transmissions is
a gtk app so its menu is stripped off the window and placed on the panel for a beautifying efffect =)
