No. Linux in itself is not immune from viruses, worms, Trojan horses (or, but it makes use of a strict security system which reduces the effect of viruses, unless you have a system as root user (what is recommended). There are only a few Linux viruses, and in General, you are relatively sure that a virus attack your system will not. You do not need to make use of antivirus software. Perhaps it is changes in the near future, when Linux is more popular, so you should also be aware of the security and related issues.

nope jan, your wrong. The way Linux is build up, it's pretty much immune to viruses, worms and trojan horses and what not. Windows viruses logically cant get a grip on the system, and the rare linux viruses cant do a thing unless the user itself is very, completely and utterly stupid (in which case they imho deserve the virus). The architecture of the system just doesnt allow it. And always if there is a leak found in linux, it is closed that same afternoon by someone who has written a patch for it, that's the power of opensource. But as long as you download from the official repositories, and dont forget to get the signed keys, then you've got nothing to worry about on linux.

here the linux virusses index but you are sure right but it's possible to get a virus on linux but not so easy as windows os the problem with linux users is that the don't even now that they have a virus on there pc and if they send some file's or what ever they infect the reciever ,so that's just a problem of linux but futher it's better then windows yes .just wanted to let you no .
