I'm about to complete a torrent d/l of a movie we now have archived. Those links are dead.
After I upload to a host I'd like to create a post.

Do I create a new post? But what about the indexing, since archived posts are indexed, I see a conflict here.

i d say it was indexed before the archive, just hasn't been removed from index,so start a new thread would be my thoughts.

yup, start a new thread and let the indexer know you have a new link by posting in the index thread.

here is an example http://ipb.quicksilverscreen.com/index.php...st&p=732374 (urbangiggles's post #5, 6 and 7)

Thanks dutchie, but a little confusion on my part.
I'll be posting a Divx movie that is archived, but I found this archive not in the index but through what I call the external search or the QSS search. My movie post to be, is not listed in the Index.
Another odd thing is that the archived post has no movie link in it. (I thought I found flv links moments ago, but cannot find them now.)
The Hudsucker Proxy (1994)

I thought I'd discovered in the past, archived posts still listed in the Index of that genre, and you are re-directed to the archive. I'm certain this has happened, could I be wrong?

BTW - There is no index in the archive section.

It all sounds confusing, but I'll be ok wiht a new post and no corrections are needed.

if you don't find it in the index, make a new post no matter what forum section smile.gif

if it needs to be merged or indexed, we will take care of it smile.gif

the answer goes for any/all sections like mrbrownee70 says.

If it is archived you can make a new thread.

If the archived thread is still in the index you can let the indexer know about the new link replacing the old one. (the indexer will find out about it eventually, it just makes it a little easier.)

If the archived thread is not indexed anymore, the indexer cleaned the index already, just make a new thread, when the indexer comes along and does his/her thing your post will be added in the index.

The archive section is the dead section, no need to index it, don't give it much attention.

Great, and thanks mrbrownee. I'm known to complicate simple matters, although it has been one of my better assets at times. smile.gif
