you know this was funny as hell but when i was texting my son (with no sound mind you since we have to turn down the volume in theaters) some dumb b**ch 3 seats away from me told me turn off my phone. she was sitting 3 seats away from me and complained that the light was bothering her. the light wasn't even hitting her face or in her view of the movie. on top of that some guy kept kicking the back of my seat throughout the entire movie. man i hate people in theaters. they have to pick at every little thing and do annoying things in movie theaters. that's why most of the time i watch movies at home online.
sacha is a modern day andy kaufman. i'm glad there are still people in the world with his sense of humor. too bad there are more people that are way too serious in the world and get pissed easily when someone is being humorous. if i would've been unwillingly a part of this movie at first, i would've been laughing the whole time sacha/bruno was f'ing with people.

Saw it today as well.. Sacha really pushes the boundaries in this one. Although I found Borat to be more comical, Burno was disturbingly hilarious but a tad bit repetitive. Refreshingly enough, Sacha found a new level of shocking humor in today's acceptance of homosexuality.

Beneboi, thats abit harsh, All's good, he was only texting his son, and i dout it ruined this womans 'experience' and even if it had, its not like it would have been the first time she went to the cinema...
So i say stuff her lol.
Anyway, to point, Is this film worth watching?

I saw in the theaters on Saturday and wow. Cohen has really pushed the boundaries in this movie. I don't understand how this movie was only rated R to be honest. But nonetheless, this movie was funny as hell, disturbing, but funny. Cohen goes places that no comedian would ever dare to and that is what makes him even more hilarious. It is definitely worth watching only if you can withstand anything. Definitely not for prudish or timid people. You have to be a little off your hinges to truly appreciate this guy's comedy. I love it.

Nice one! Been checking QSS everyday too for the last month. Finally got my Bruno fix. Not as good as I hoped but loads of toe-curling scenes and fairly entertaining. Not really sowed together as well as Borat though. He went with a more gonzo slapstick approach than anything else. Do something outrageously gay - film the reaction. I preferred his previous turns as Bruno where it was more about showing peoples prejudices up and examining them with awkward questions. "How do you turn disabled people away when they show up at the club?" etc.

i agree , things like this and borat, just offensive gay comedy. its like jokes and written comedy go out the window. mike judge was exactly right in the concept of the movie idiocracy -a must see- next big movie will probably be "ass" or "ow my balls" things only funny for shock value, stupid comedy, the dumbing of america. cant wait for carls jr. to help run our lives. its goona happen maybe a differnt name but it will all happen. any anthropologist will openly have to admit we as a people are getting dumber not smarter.
*side note*
just watched the evening news and austria has banned this movie.

Aww guys just came back from the cinema and after seeing this, i'd say it is just as funny as Borat
Sacha tried to push the boundaries on purpose, to make it more laugh-out-loud funnier than Borat was.
Of course, both movies had their differences. But thats fantastic that they did.
If they had the same type of humour, then Bruno would've basically been a carbon-copy of Borat..
The shock value in Bruno compared to Borat is so much more prominent which makes it better
It's gay with a side of gay

I'm not sure what people were expecting the movie to be, it played out like a raunchier longer version of the character from the Ali G show. I loved it, the last scene was fucking insane.

this movie was fucken hilarious, i honestly thought it was better than borat... borat got annoying after a while. but i coulda watched bruno fuck with people ALL DAY lol.. it was HILARIOUS, ESPECIALL (SPOILER?) during the swinger scene when that blonde kept smacking the shit outta him and he flew through the WINDOW lol!!!! and when he got tied up with his assistant and they go to the anti gay rally!!!
SPOILER: my favorite line was when he said: "no those lips were meant for something else" or whatever... HAHAHAHAHAHA

Hilarious. Some people don't get irony. Bruno was just doing what our culture tells us to do, be famous for nothing. Borat did make me laugh more, but Sasha is a genius all the same. Most people bitching about the media in the 90's used Beavis and Butthead as an example!

Terrible film, watched 3/4 of it .
I don't post much, this the worst film he done.
Borat was milking the cash cow, now he hit the hollywood film makers, he aint funny now.
He just taking the piss outta Hollywood.
He aint funny in the UK, we had enough of "Ali G" and his spin off's
Cash Cow for Sasha and his not funny yank friends
edit added a H to Thread
He is just cashing in, Borat was a "make me wealthy enterprise" this one is worse its a make me a millionare. He ain't funny, I'm surprised he crossed the UK/USA. 11 o'clock show, check it out. Ali G, where he started, after the Borat film he stopped being funny

i thought it was funny. but yeah i can see its not his best work. even his bruno skits from his show were way better than this. but it WAS funny.
i couldnt help but feel he was milking the gay shit for too much a little. there were moments where i didnt laugh at the joke it was just like "yeah i get it, your gay, and those people are appalled by your gayness"
as a whole of Saschas work this is mediocre, HOWEVER due to the overwhelming shite that is most recent movies, i cant help but say this is one of the best newer comedies.....
.....aint got shit on Hangover tho.

Bruno wasn't my favorite character in his show, but this was shockingly funny.

This movie was so gay I couldn't even finish it. Borat was definately better cause it wasn't about a homo! If I was the dude in the taekwondo place I woulda had to kick this dude's ass omg. I have a very good sense of humor but this was just plain idiocracy. Paula Abdul was smokin fine in it tho. Opinion's are like asshole's tho. . everyone's got one!

Admit it, folx; Sasha Baron Cohen is a comic genius. He is out on the extreme fringes of comedy, and is creating humor out of the reactions of everyday people to the most unusual of circumstances. Each joke in "BRUNO" served a particular purpose to the central, running joke in the movie. That's an amazing feat to pull off in a full-length movie. Say what you will about Cohen being a "one trick pony;" the guy is far ahead of his contemporaries in terms of pushing the boundaries of comedy. I laughed my a$$ off throughout the movie!
