So i just went and completed my double header for the night. I saw The hangover and land of the lost. I will only be talking about the hangover even thought LOTL was entertaining.

I do not want to spoil anything for anybody so i will give a brief opinion and would love any other reactions to the film.

I thought this movie was HYSTERICAL! It has been a long time since i have seen a "'laugh out loud' all the way through the movie" comedy. The credits were by far the funniest credit portion of any movie I have seen and the whole movie was full of ridiculousness and laughter the whole time. It will probably be the funniest movie of 2009. It was a fantastic job for a cast not known for their fantastic acting. Anyway, the hangover is a must see for this summer and greatly surpassed my initial expectations. It is a great movie for men, that even women will enjoy, and made me want to go out and do something stupid that i couldn't remember, kind of like when you watch a sports movie and need to go play it right after.

TWO THUMBS UP, GO SEE IT!!!!!!! emoticon-0108-speechless.gif

I loved this movie as well. Definitely the comedy of the year for me. The whole movie was great and the credits were so out there and over the top, they really did not hold anything back. The cast was perfect for me, they balanced out just right. Alan was my favorite though, he was a riot. I want to say more, but I might end up giving things away, but the movie is a must see. Good and raunchy fun for us adults biggrin.gif

Was it just me, or was this movie really not that funny. Well, let me elaborate. There were some funny parts. I actually found some scenes where i was laughing out loud. However, these scenes were very rare and all happened around the same point in the movie. (I am talking about pretty much the entire scene in the police station)

I guess what i am trying to say is that everyone i talked to said this movie is hilarious and trumps some of the other recent comedies. That after watching there were going to be new "sayings" in pop culture. So i was going in with the mindset of here comes a really funny movie and i am going be fairly entertained all the way through. This was not the case. To me, it seemed as though everything was fake. Most of the lines were delivered like they were actually reading off a script. (I know there is a script, but the lines didnt "flow" or feel "natural." i hope you can see what i am saying. The story seemed ok, but the events seemed very unrealistic. (seriously, a TIGER in the bathroom.... hotel security would certainly stop that)

I dont know, maybe it was the quality of the cam, or maybe i had too high of expectations. But overall, i was fairly disappointed. Anyone else sharing my views, or am i just being wierd?

I agree that this movie wasn't incredibly funny like Superbad was, but it had a good heart and an interesting story. This seems to be the trend with new guy comedies such as "I love you Man," "Knocked Up." "Forgetting Sarah Marshall," etc. And they have largely succeeded.

I will say that I had an urge to go down to Vegas after watching the movie!

I see where you are coming from but i think the point was for it to not be taken seriously. I understood it would be unrealistic just from the trailer and since i said screw it i thoroughly enjoyed it. it is kind of like crank 2 in terms of unrealisticness but you get past that, you take it for male humor-as straight forward as it is

Found it hillarious! Bets movie this year for me by a looooong shot.

the movie wasn't that great
zach galifinakis had the only really funny lines, and like the other guy said it just wasn't consistent throughout. yes, it was funny, but it was no Airplane! or Office Space. Most certainly nowhere near movie of the year material.

Reviews state otherwise, as does my opinion.

Not really sure where all of these amazing reviews are supposed to be coming from, it has a 79 on rt, and most of the positive reviews are basically like "yea its funny, but it doesnt do anything new or push any boundaries." Again, I enjoyed the movie, certainly, but I won't be buying it on dvd and I will probably never think about it again after this thread dies.
