Tevez rejects Uniteds offer

...ah well,it was great to watch him in the United shirt and i wish him best of luck...
Amar
united pulled the contract off the table....they gave him 10 days to sign a contract that would affect the life of his family and himself for FIVE YEARS....bloody hell what are they playing at, the least they can do is give him 2-3 weeks to discuss it with his family
striker07
Yeah good luck to him even though i think its a big step down(if he go to city).

you can`t faulter tevez work in unted because he gave 100% on the field and the fans always appreciated that but he was not the attacker he was made to be.

Seriously amar... i dont believe you sometimes. Plenty of people have fucking famalies to feed, we can't sign up everybody just becaues they have famalies.

Tevez and his dirty agent were basically stalling for time, waiting to see if they could get a better deal elsewhere. His family's only decision would have been where they wanted to live. Manchester, london or...Manchester...

Do you think clubs usually allow 10days to mull it over? We need to know whether or not he wants to come so we can plan for the future. Now we know the 5 goal a season forward doesnt want to stay we can look at getting someone better in.
Amar
it took united 2 years to finally offer the 25.5m and offer him a contract

answer this question, if you had to make a decision for yourself and your family for the next FIVE YEARS, would you want time to think it over?

uniteds loss but the way they treated this guy has been so poor.

haha If i am going to be paid about £100,000 a week to play football my family is hardly in a crisis at all! We offered, we told them to make a decision...they didnt make a decision on time. They were greedy and stalling for better offers from elsewhere. You just love ANY chance to dig utd, its pathetic and bitter.

Why is it our loss? Is a forward who scores 5 a season worth 25million...hell no smile.gif

People who achieve little but work at 110% arent worth too much...once again i point out Alan Smith...i think he actually scored and set up more than tevez, yet he wasnt even worth 10million...
Amar
show some respect to the man who was key in helping you win 2 titles in a row...so ungrateful...
hitmewitdarock
so where will he go?
striker07
right now it looks like city

not 2 days ago you said to stop all this slating of other teams and here you are doing just that.......jeeess.

he played for us for 2 years(hard working but not the goalscorer we expected) and you think he need more time to think about playing for us??
his agent has been touting his arse around europe backing United into a corner about the £25.5 mill fee to be paid.
i dont believe we would have offered that unless Real offered the ridiculous fee for Ronaldo and sending the market stupid.

as i have said he is going where his agent wants him to go(money and no other reason-if you believe it is for 1st team football your mad-he had plenty at United and will only get as many no more at city) and wont be playing in Europe to boot........some ambition.

good luck to him as he gave his all and i liked him but put the £25mill plus some of the Ronnie fee towards Benzema and i will be happy.
Amar
united had 2 years to buy him, they didnt, so he thought he was leaving. then suddenly united make the bid and offer him a 5 year contract when he and his family is all set to move on. stop makign excuses, i dont care what money is offered, if a the future of my family is affected for 5 years, i would discuss it over with them like tevez was doing.

united and are just being typical united, your loss...
kwacka
prat ....we paid £10mill to loan him for 2 years and if we wanted to buy him an extra £25.5 mill was required to secure his services.

this was all agreed at the start.......Ronnie goes for £80mill we table the required £25.5 mill before his loan period ends and all of a sudden his agent wants more than was agreed the whole lot falls apart and its our fault...........you begger belief sometimes.

stick to defending £18mill for a player who is no better than you already have is more up your street.
Amar
ok you dumb ass wait a sec before i prove you wrong

...once again, its not our loss anymore than losing alan smith was. And do you really think he will honour that five year contract...being a footballer isnt like being in the army, they can sign a five year contract and leave after 1 year, even half a year...look at Robbie Keane. Contracts mean nothing to most footballers. Especially ones with dirty agents. We have no responsibility for his family...10days is plenty of time and ffs of course money matters he can himself an austin martin to take him to and from london/manchester...wherever he chooses...shit, he can buy himself a house in each city.
Amar
right now that i got my drink

united agreed to pay 25.5m, they agreed to pay it in january. But in the opinion of United chief executive David Gill, despite the agreed figure, they found that fee "toppy" and the delay in securing Tevez did them no favours. UNITED WANTED TO GO BACK ON THEIR AGREEMENT AND LOWER THE PRICE. tevez's agent told them no because other clubs are willing to pay the money.

get your facts right before you start spouting total crap son.

"From the moment I came here I wanted to sign a longer contract," Tevez said back in September 2008.

"It would be wonderful if the chairman put a long term contract on the table for me. I would sign it without doubt."

Instead, United signed striker Dimitar Berbatov for £30.75m last summer and postponed securing Tevez as they appeared to try to bring down the pricetag.

so now united have not taken the option to buy him in january and tevez thinks they wont buy him so he starts making plans with his family to move. then suddenly united come in with the offer and give him a FIVE year contract, him and his family are already set on leaving but it is obvious he wants to stay so he starts discussing it with his family because it is 5 years of THEIR LIVES. but united want the deal done quickly and pull the plug

But United had ample opportunity to stop Tevez's head from being swayed into a move elsewhere and manager Sir Alex Ferguson has now been left to secure replacements for two prize players in a competitive market
Amar
tombeast, i understand your point, the above post isnt aimed at you btw, its aimed at that dumb ass.

i agree united may have gotten better of the deal with them breaking things off but you already lost 1 attacker and to lose another is a massive blow

United had till the end of June to buy him....thats the deal or he could talk to others in Jan,like any deal.

his agent started to rock the boat, we said we have until June, go find another team if you can otherwise we will pay £25mill in June.

nothing has been forthcoming from others,we offewr £25 as agreed and he wants more time as it may affect his family, yet may go to City?????

Your right its fuck all to do with money......dumb ass

listen, i know you are a special child so i will try my best to make this as clear as possible. if tevez felt united wanted him, would they buy him in jan before he can talk to other clubs or after? united were trying to lower the price. yes he may go to city, what choice has he got? UNITED PULLED THE PLUG before he had a chance to discuss anything with his family. if its to do with money then he would have already been at city or madrid who were offering more money than united. get your facts straight dumb ass
kwacka
jesus....you were the one that said it was to do with giving his family time to think about it.

i have said its about money.....if he goes to city it is fuck all to do with family and all to do with money....which will become clear in a couple of days with a big fee and massive wages, and if its city his family dont have to move, convienient eh,everyones happy especially his agent

hmm, i guess it all depends who he brings in. Valencia still looks likely, t obe honest i have my doubts there, but time will tell. I do think he's good but im not sure how he will adapt into a top team. We need to bring in someone of the quality of Benzema.
kwacka
Benzema > Tevez and the 25mill will come in handy and with some of Ronnies fee left over we could buy poss 3 players,Hargo poss to come back.

it all looks ok to me

Hargeeves is knackered mate, those knees have let him down so you'll need to wrap him in cotton wool only bringing him out when he's needed.

There was talk of him having to retire not so long back.

It's the same problem he had in Germany Tom so i doubt it is one that's going to go away.

Indeed, Mr glass knees himself. It's a shame, he could have done a job for us had he stayed fit. It was a risky buy though, with his past record.
kwacka
we will see......where has Amar gone? i thought we were settled for a chat
Tams
He's a top player in my books, it's a shame we don't have the cash to spring for him. Good luck to him at City, as bringing in players of his quality will only make them stronger.. we need another big team in the mix, it's good for the EPL. Anywhere but Chelsea really.. I'd prefer him at United then Chelsea smile.gif
