Hey guys, i was speaking to one of your members through the boards the other day about how to get videos off youtube or other video streaming websites, unfortunately we had a problem trying to obtain a saved copy on particular videos that had to be proxied. in reality, the files are already stored on your pc anyway so i done a little bit of looking into it and found a couple of nice apps i know some of you willl be interested in.

VideoCacheView: You can export your flash temporary files into .flv format. need to use it when the browser is open. it can also be configured to capture from specific directories of your choosing.

WebVideoCap: This one is different, it captures the stream as it comes in, which means it can capture all types of media. It uses the WinPcap Driver which is pretty easy to install.

now you can save your favorite movies! smile.gif

I've been using VideoCacheView on IE for a while. It makes finding videos in Temp and copying them to a different location a lot easier. It can take some time to load/list all the files in Temp. I find cleaning out Temp (Tools/Delete Browsing History/Temporary Internet Files/Delete Files) before streaming to be an effective way of finding files faster.

I've also used CacheViewer on FF for the same purpose.

Both these programs work pretty well.

I have to say, that addon is pretty good, works well in a sandbox too.
