Before any signings are made, and before a ball has been kicked whats everyones views based on this season and personal opinions?

the title will be a different kettle of fish, with United and chelsea battling for top spot, liverpool? well im not convinced as they hav to challange again and again before they will be taken seriously and not with a pinch of salt. chelsea looked very very strong towards the end of the season, and with a world class manager, if all clicks will be a force to be recconned with. but united are the team to beat, we are the best and will be setting the standards once again. if you want to win the league, you must play better than man utd simple as, whoever does if anyone, will be worthy champions.

relegation wise, well hull burnley and wolves will go down, no doubt about it.

well west ham have a had a great second half to the season considering all the bollocks
with the tevez/mascherano affair, zola and clarke have come good..

all we need is deano to be on his best form alongside savio and things will happen @ upton park..

we could do with a decent midfield player. to jump in with noble/collinson and parker..

i'm looking for a top 5 finish next season, forget about the Gudmundsson debt,
get him out and let someone else take this great club to where they belong..

there is still that silly rumour fying around upton park of Kia Joorabchian planing another bid, cant see it happening tbh,
Joorabchian is one dodgy fucker...but if he ever were to take over, well that would mean we get our boy back emoticon-0115-inlove.gif

but then i think of this..."And Just like my dreams they fade and die. emoticon-0106-crying.gif

we shall wait and see what happens over the next few weeks..

Liverpool have been in fantastic form of late.. basically for 3/4 of the season. To say we haven't a chance, and then to say Chelsea have a chance is insane.. we proved we were the better side over a season. Like Rafa has said, we have to spend wise as we don't compete with the likes of City, United or Chelsea in the funds department, and we'll have to sell wisely also.

When you look at the improvement we've made under Rafa over the years you just have to sit back and admire, coming from a UEFA Cup side to UCL winners, then coming on to title challengers. That's progress for me.. hell, we pushed United until may with one striker for the second term of the season... bring in another quality forward and we can expect another shot at the title.

I believe Arsenal will pick up the pace again next year, with the quality of the younger players growing pubic hair at last, and players such as Arshavin and RVP in the squad, I see them as genuine contenders. Chelsea will be strong as ever, and if Guus stays they could have another bite of the cherry.

All in all it should be another great season, and with a few big name signings for Liverpool, hopefully in the forward and left wing department, we can push the top 4 all the way again.

io seem to remember we scored at least 3 goals in almost all of our game from mid march?

how much stronger do we need to finish?

in 1996 newcastle united ran united close, as they did for the following 3 seasons, during this period they believed they wer a big club and there heads grew massive. where are they now

AIMED AT LIVERPOOL FANS!!!

1 season in which chelsea wer abismal at the start due to there manager not being up to it, united had at 1 point, 12 of our first 16 players out in jured or suspended, travelled around the world mid season, went all the way in every compitition bar 1 and didnt play anywhere near as good as we could and a season where arsenal just couldnt cut it again liverpool appeared to look good. this im affraid until continued is simple just a mirage. you see liverpool have done this before, under a certain houlier, who also gave liverpool a 2nd placed finish, jesus u actually finsihed above united, and talk was of how you had finally done it and you would be a force from then on, we united fans enjoyed that summer, and we laughed ever so hard, even donations wer made by us to open a new mental hospital in liverpool because some fans got far to dissilusional and we thought we best act. at the end of the day 1 season of finishing 2nd ( early exits from all bar 1 cup, played a damn site less than united or chelsea, and had a lot less injuries ( and no bans at all? hmmm dodgy or what? ) you have looked better than you actually wer. this was your chance, and you blew it, just as everyone expected you to, including yourselves.

so go ahead, get your hopes up, you will be dissapointed come may 2010, as you are every year these days.

also liverpool can compete with united in the transfer market, its just we buy much much better players and have a far superior scouting and youth development team than you do, so dont come that either.

good luck to WHU jimmy for next season, got a gem in zola there.

movieman
funny how you forget to mention the fact our 2 mian goal scorers were out for many parts of the season?

better players? anderson nani etc? what a load of crap your better off playing the likes of welbeck and macheda than nani
colnechris
i remember your manager making 1 good signing ever........torres

Amar
yeah alonso, mascherano, agger, skirtel, arbeloa, insua, reina are all crap yeah

stop being so silly ffs, are you drunk or something col?

what the hell does youth development or scouting got to do with spending power which movie man brought up? ffs man think a little.

united can afford to spend like 40m per season while we can only afford to spend 10m plus any sales rafa makes, even with this great advantage we hammered united twice and were only 4 points behind. imagine if we had the cover united have with 30m back up strikers, with gerrard and torres out for half of the season we would have picked up even more points which is WHY we will be even better next season because we will have the back up players and new first team players like silva (rafa has also enquired about him)

the reason you are against liverpool so much and talk about us is because you are worried, if you were not worried you wouldnt make these kind of posts.
nothing to be ashamed ofr, i would be worried if a team who hammered us 4-1 will get even better next season
movieman
we signed alonso he is better than nani better than anderson better than hargreeves and about on par with carrick

sami hyppia was won of the best central defenders back in the day

finnan absolute bargin at 2.5 mill

reina one of the best keepers in the prem

mascherano rock solid in the center

thats just a few

ok admittedly we have had many poor signings but so does everyone
colnechris

Please guys. Stop perpetuating the myth that UTD can run around writing blank cheques to sign anyone without bringing cash in. UTD poached loads of young talent and sell them on for millions if they don't quite make it or the right offer comes in. They also sell stars they make. Is it 100% accurate? Probably not, but it shoots downn that myth that's for sure.

Where Man u can trump lioverpool is the wage bill. If they switched sqauds now and all kept the same wages, Liverpool would be more fucked financial wise than UTD currently are for sure. Liverpool fucked up. When they ruled they din't invest in stadium and a global empire. Madrid did, Barca did, Milan did, UTD did etc and now Liverpool are playing catch up... It'll likey never happen.

As for Rafa and his amazing team. He won the CL with Houlier's team and since then they've finished runners up and a semi final or 3. He's taking them backwards IMO. They'll never win the league while he's in charge.

I've also seen comments from scouser banging about Fergie's shit without the cash. If you think that, chewck out what he achieved at Aberdeen. With no money he broke the old firm dominance (probably the only person to do it in living memory( and maybe the only person ever to do it. I dunno, not up on my scottish football) and won the cup winners cup. Fergie is quite simply a genius and Rafa is no comparison. Fergie's the main reason why UTD are where they are today and the second is cantona.

Viva UTD smile.gif
Amar
how long did it take for fergie to win 1 title? yes over 5 years....

united spend masses and spent huge to get to the top, your afraid magoo which is why you talk about pool in such a way. the 4-1 hammering really brought you and deluded united fans back to earth!

rafa has dominated spain with valencia and i believe he will do it with pool as well. what rafa achieved with valencia was way ebtter than what fergie achieved with aberwho? lmao no contest.

get ready for next season because you will be even more afraid

A liverpool fan calling a united fan deluded is beyond a joke, you are the deluded ones mate. Every year 'we're gonna win everything' and you are still hunting for that elusive pl trophy...

I'm more afriad of Arsenal than i am of you.

Newcastle beat us 5-0 once, that freak result you got against us means nothing!!

PL champs 3 years running
current CL champs and in the final onoce again
and WORLD CHAMPIONS

liverpool...runners up in the league...erm...OH! thats it...fuck all
jackyshaw8
i think it will be close between the top 4 next year. man utd are the team to catch. arsene wegner needs to get his finger out n signs a few experienced players, a quality defensive midfielder and a big bad centre back. chelsea need to get the right manager. liverpool need to expand the squad to relieve the pressure from torres and gerrard

1.man utd
2.chelsea
3.liverpool
4.arsenal

but only a few points, maybe 3 or 4, separating the top 4

everton, tottenham and villa (in no order) to complete the top 7
movieman
i think realisticly united chelsea and liverpool will fill the top 3 spots but in what order i do not know.
arsenal everton villa spurs will complete the top 7

bolton hull portsmouth relegated
jackyshaw8
fancy hull, sunderland (if gordon strachan gets the job emoticon-0122-itwasntme.gif ) and burnley to go down

Oh my god... any real football fan with half a brain knows the World Club Championship is fuck all... we could have won it but fielded a reserve squad.

If you wanna shout shit like that, you lost to Zenit in the European Super cup which by your logic on world champions, you weren't even the best in Europe... Zenit are.

when you had the chance you didnt though.....joker.

the fact you may come from the sink does not make you a bigger fan than someone who travels miles to watch their team or do you hate anyone outside liverpool as well?

last time i looked it was a free world.....do you actually go to every match?
Tams
When we had the chance we knew it was a load of bollocks and didn't try for it... even the Brazilian team we played said after the game "European Clubs should try and take us more seriously..." No we shouldn't lol...

I'm not from Liverpool myself.. I come from Chester, although my Dad is a Scouse, and my mum is a Manc (City fan of course) and no, I don't go to every match as I live up north nower days. I used to go to every home game for 10 years straight when I was a lad, but living just outside of Newcastle these days I can never find time to get to every game at Anfield. I've been to a fair few though when you take into account my budget as a student, 6 games or so, seen the drumming of Real Madrid, when we beat Chelsea and went to 2 away games, one being Chelsea away and Newcastle away.

I just love football, I went to 15 games at St James Park this season and I admit, I have gone on to like the team. The fans are fantastic, 50k fans every game this season or there about.. that's what you call support.

lets see how many barcodes turn up next year....when we were relegated in the `70s we still sold out OT.....thats support

It's not even a final worthy of mentioning.. it's basically a friendly.

Do you think the American teams think they are the best in the world when they beat European teams in the final? No.. we would laugh at them.

Like I've said before, if winning the WCC makes you the best team in the world, winning the European Super Cup makes you the best in Europe. Zenit were the best team in Europe this season on your logic.. same kind of trophy, aka pointless.

chester and supprting liverpool yet calling me on not being from manchester.

im an honourary manc considering i lived in moston from the age of 2 to 6 so yeh, my support of united started then and has continued ever since. mite of had something to do with being amongst united fans at every corner, as my mums boyfriend ( city fan and cunt and a half ) entire family wer united fans and season ticket holders, bar him, but as i said he was a cunt.

Like Munich eh? And you call our fans heartless cunts? Haha classic.

Your both cunts with no footballing knowledge outside of your admiral club, congratulations. Have a cider, listen to some Blackout crew and watch United in that graveyard you call a theater smile.gif

You'll Never Walk Alone.
colnechris
despise blackout crew, bunch of muppets. and that is sick tams, munich happened, what i said was a bit of a laugh, in response to i really wouldnt care, why should i, i respect none of your players in the slightest, and nor do most none liverpool fans, you think your special, but you aint proved anything. when you do the respect will come.

Tams
What's sick? Did I disrespect the people or family's that died just then? No.. re-read and come again.

No one respects Liverpool's players? Almost every fan outside of Manchester detest your club, and your fans.... hell, even in Manchester the ratio of 7:3 hate your club. Gerrard is regarded as the best English player in the world by Zidane and Crujff. Look on Sky Sports "Best striker in the world" voting. Every Man Utd fan in the voting picked Torres... lol. I think the only fans who were picking a different striker were Chelsea with Anelka, which is understandable due to his goal tally and their based views.

Thierry Henry is Arsenal through and through yet openly says he respects Liverpool fans above any fan he who has watched him play football... that's one of, if not the greatest striker to play in the EPL respecting the fans of a rival club more then his own fans... smile.gif

Just stop talking, seriously man :/

is that why he left Arsenal then?

the biggest rivals to him winning a trophy happened to be United, hence the hate to us......you lot were never a threat to Arsenal so "respect" comes easy.

Viera says the player he respected the most was Keane.
Ronaldo thought we were the best fans ever when he played against us for Madrid........so dont get where you are going with this.

as for Henry being one of the best(correct) if not the best(wrong),come on.........Ruud was better than him, hands down as was Shearer

Did you seriously just compare Viera to Zidane/Crujff? And yes, Henry left to join the greatest club in the world.. big deal?

Give me a news quote on this Ronaldo stuff please. Did you bribe him with cheeseburgers or some shit, as everyone knows the only time you make a noise in the graveyard is when Sir Alex asks you to.

Another based view btw, Henry was twice the player Ruud was. Shearer is without a doubt the greatest English striker of all time (Note Shearer hate's you too.. you still chant sad Geordie just because he turned you down.. twice emoticon-0140-rofl.gif ), but Henry is up there with the best there ever was.
colnechris
erm, ronaldo came to old trafford and the united fans showed there respect, so much so he started taking english lessons in view to possibly playing for the worlds biggest club.

and shearer was better than every english striker ever? the record books disagree. bobby charlton springx to mind, much better than shearer, be it from midfield or striker ( he played both ).

little fact for you, more united fans in manchester than there are city fans. this was tested and proven. think the MEN did a poll, and also amount of match going fans that come from the local area, which the clusb do themselves, so unfortunately that myths bullshit.

tho, it makes just as much sense as me sayin most liverpudlians follow everton.

shearer did turn us down, and he no doubt regrets it every night. newcastle are a pathetic club run by shambolic owners and are english footballs 2nd biggest joke, after leeds
