Not young and not dumb.Just somebody who enjoys football and believes that congratulations should go to whichever team wins the league.Even as a Man U fan who has always wanted them to win every trophy,I still appreciated what a great team Liverpool were when they dominated English and European football. All of those achievements are in the past but they are all that Liverpool fans talk about even though most of them are not old enough to remember them.I do remember them and at the time I wanted Liverpool to win the European Cup because they were a British team. How many liverpool fans will be cheering on Man U tonight? Not many I would think.I was always taught to be a good loser and an even more gracious winner but it seems that this attitude is outdated and it's easier to be a bad loser and not acknowledge any body else's achievements.Just one more thing though,I always find it amazing how Liverpool fans take everything as a personal insult but then again I do enjoy it.

No teams fans are 'good winners' from a rivals point of view man smile.gif

We have a right to celebrate and i for one don't rub it in peoples faces unless idiots like rafa come out and say 'united aren't the best in england'. Then i have to talk about what we've won because teams are judged on what they win. Maybe every city is different but i never heard the end of it when you lot won the champs league...

We're not worried kwak you see it took Fergie longer than Rafa has been at Liverpool to win a trophy and atfer putting together the most expensive team in the history of English footy he was nearly sacked before he had a chance,We understand Rafa has been building our side the trophies he has won whilst doing it are just a bonus as far as i am concerned & the FACT you mancs hate him so much just adds to the love and faith we have that he's getting it right.

Whiskybreath used to attack Wenger daily but now he classes him as a mate, why ? because he didn't see them as a threat fook me he loved Rafa when he first came to Anfield but now he knows Rafa has his number he goes on paranoid xenophobic rants and whilst we find them funny because we know what it really says you guys should be questioning his mental state & to be honest the fact you aint is beyong the pale smile.gif

Most goals scored (2nd season running) less games lost, fewer shots on our goal,we know the reason we didn't win this year and it wasn't because Man U were soooooooooo amazing also we got what we wanted this year and that was a proper challenge..

In short We are happy, the fact you lot are so angry and always sing about us just makes us happier.
kwacka
i could not care less about you lot,im just sick of the united bashing when we are the most successful club in the premiership.

you lot have done nothing but talk about us,come up with wild conspiracy theories and still cant accept your good enough to beat us to the league.
all i hear is we beat you twice as if that actually means anything...........the league is over 38 games,we let in less goals than you,the only reason you scored more was because you played a quarter of your games against 10 men and we had a poor season as far as form is concerned and still were to good for your best ever challenge.

roll on next year you dreamer if you honestly think your closer to us.............and alonso is gone

and to ask a United fan to question fergie is bordering on stupidity
Skamp
we are the most successful club in the premiership. hand.gif emoticon-0136-giggle.gif

I just love the fact you muppets have to put ''Premiership'' love it i do. party.gif clapping.gif

And after last nights selections you bloodywell should be questioning the man, getting over run in midfield,i know lets bring 4 forwards on,bordering on lunacy.

But we all know that had Hargreeves been fit you would crushed them eh,that's the same OG whos injury is the same one who forced you to wait a year before you spunked £18m on him,an injury he's suffered with his whole bloody career.

Forever In Our Shadow

"Are you watching Merseyside" the assembled United masses sang before the game in Rome last night. Yes, we are. And how we enjoyed it.

The United fan base have this unhealthy obsession with Liverpool, with everything they do being measured against our own achievements. They cannot play a single game without their fans singing about Liverpool. Everything they strive for exists at the other end of the M62. The odd blog from myself does not constitute hypocrisy on that front. We go to the game to support our own side and very rarely sing about others unless we happen to be playing them. The hatred and jealousy United fans have for us doesn't allow them to do that.

After living in our shadow for so long, they can now see the sun blazing down just a few steps away. Just a couple more strides and they'll walk from that shadow and cast one of their own as the most successful club in the land. They can see the light, and last night missed a huge opportunity to take another huge step away from that darkness.

Alex Ferguson postponed his retirement a number of years ago for one reason only; to win more European Cups.

He has continually stated himself, that to be classed as a truly great side you have to win at least 2 European Cups with the same group of players. You have to win the big one more than once. Thus far he has managed to win it twice, but with each being almost a decade apart. Last night was his chance to achieve his dream and allow self congratulation of drawing alongside the man that casts a constant shadow over him; Bob Paisley.

Ferguson will not rest until he's equalled or surpassed the European Cup haul of Sir Bob. No matter how many league titles he wins, it's the European Cup that really matters, and the trophy that is still the holy grail for all, no matter what anyone says. It may be becoming a tedious competition, with the repetitive nature of playing sides from your own country time and time again, but it's still the one that sets apart the good sides from the great sides. Alex Ferguson will tell you exactly the same.

Arsenal and Chelsea have won the league in recent years, but neither of them have a European Cup to their name. Alex Ferguson has 11 league titles under his belt, but only 2 European Cups; and that hurts him. It also highlights just how special those European successes are.

There are 14 managers that have won 2 European Cups; Alex Ferguson just remains a name amongst that 14, with only one manager standing over the rest having amassed a collection of 3 European Cups. That man is Bob Paisley.

Ferguson might not admit it publically, but he knows that Bob Paisley is the greatest manager of all time. He knows that what Bob achieved in his time at Liverpool will never be surpassed.

Paisley - 6 league titles and 3 European Cups in 9 years

Ferguson - 11 league titles and 2 European Cups in 22 years

If Paisley had another 13 years in charge of Liverpool, giving him a 22 year reign, imagine how many European Cups he could have brought home.

He won the equivalent of 1 European Cup every 3 years. Ferguson has 1 every 10 years.

He won the league 2 out of 3 seasons. Ferguson has won it 1 in 2.

It's not even a contest.

Barcelona last night exposed the lack of "greatness" about this current Manchester United side. The majesty of Iniesta and Xavi in midfield making the axis of Carrick and Anderson look second rate. That's £35m worth of Carrick and Anderson by the way.

£70m rated Ronaldo, £30m purchases Rooney and Berbatov and a £30m striker in Carlos Tevez all on the field for the last half an hour and could do nothing to even threat the Barcelona goal. £160m worth of attacking talent that offered hardly anything. A side put together for vast amounts and completely outclassed by Barcelona.

Where does Ferguson go from here? Open the cheque book again?

This summer is absolutely massive for both Manchester United and Liverpool. We are both level on 18 league titles and as closely matched on the field as we have been in decades. The moves made in the transfer market this summer by both clubs will be crucial in who takes the advantage come next May.

But one advantage I'm convinced Alex Ferguson will never hold, is the one that really matters when separating success from greatness; European Cup glory. We're staying on our perch Alex.

Liverpool 5-3 Man Utd

Forever In Our Shadow

The whole of the English game was riddled with hooliganism, and it could have been ANY club in England who could have caused that, MAN UTD had a problem with it also. I'm not condoning what our fans did as it was disgraceful, but if you actually watch the footage of the incident, it wasn't all us. Juve fans were as bad as us, hurling things at our fans, and then there is the state of the stadium itself...
QUOTE
Despite its status as Belgium's national stadium, Heysel Stadium was not a suitable venue for a match such as the European Cup Final. The 55-year-old stadium had not been well maintained for several years, and large parts of the stadium were crumbling. Liverpool players and fans later said that they were shocked at the abject conditions of the ground, despite reports from Arsenal fans that the stadium was a "dump" when the Gunners played there a few years earlier. Liverpool CEO Peter Robinson urged UEFA to choose another venue, to no avail.

Our fans are disgraced btw? The full of the English game were disgraceful in the 80's, just as the Italian fans are now with their "Ultras". Don't act all inicent you moron, get a clue of what happened before making retarded comments.
colnechris
your fans are disgraceful, even uefa said it in 2007, so i would quit while the miniscule amount of dignity you have left remains........

and it could of happened to any club, yet it happened.........TWICE to your club in 4 years. so yeh, and when its against your club you demand an apology, yet when your the cause, you refuse to appologise. interesting or what?

and seeing as you liverpool fans lack intelligence, i will point out that is not a dig at hillsborough, but just pointing out the fact your club was involved in both, so the it could of happened to any club, holds little meaning.

we are not closely matched on the field, we are miles ahead simple as that. when you mount a challange year on year you can then say wer close, til then keep quiet cos your attempts to claim your in our league are just laughable.

I'd be more embarrased supporting a club who milks a disaster for every penny its worth (look at how much money have made from milking munch...) and gets the club sponsors to pay for a tribute to the people who lost there lives in that disaster. Or even waits 20 years before the players families got atleast 1 penny in compensation

Also read up about what happened to the united player who broke his leg in the munich air disaster that goes all the way to....disgraceful on the clubs part. united are the biggest disgrace on the planet....leave the families of players hanging and dry, milk munich and make all the money they can and then refuse to pay the families...

Man City finished mid table... that's my point. We beat United to a pulp in our meeting.. at Old trafford, when man Utd were in the best form of their campaign. To say we are not a challenge or anywhere near Man Utd's level is beyond stupidity, but what can I expect from Christine? He's constantly on his rags it seems. Anyone who says Liverpool don't pose a challenge or don't match Man Utd is a retard, simple.

The facts are there (FACTS, RAFA RANT INCOMING!), we fell short by four points, and when you look back at our season, it could and should have been so much different. Take the Everton, Fulham and West Ham games at Anfield we should have coasted, in which they camped all game with 11 men behind the ball. We should have finished off those small, yes SMALL CLUBS (It's fucking true... I don't see why everyone takes it as an insult... Man utd know it, everyone knows it... why all the OMG he said Everton was a small club, disrespect!!!.... it's TRUE), and we would have been sitting a top of the premier league.

You look back at United's campaign and see their games against Aston Villa and Sunderland.. if only we could have done that, in situations where they couldn't break down the defense, or in the situation when they were being tanned (Villa game), and still pull out a win, may it be luck or not, that's what champions do, and fair play to them.

We needed that bit of luck, we didn't get it sadly, and the best team over a season won.. I've said that since United won the EPL, and I'll continue to say it, but for ANYONE to say we are not a match, or not a challenge for United is a complete and utter joke.
kwacka
who said you were not a challenge???
in short you were not up to the challenge because your home record of drawing let you down.

as for getting luck or not............i feel playing a quarter of your matches against 10men plenty of luck

haha mr magoo for that last post, i laughed out loud ha.

and scousers ( dnt care bout your real names anymore, im talking down to you from now on considering united are better than liverpool ) you have to think, your acting like beating united is more important than winning silverware.

just for the record, arsenal beat united ( in the game of the season i mite add ), as did fulham. newcastle even got a point off us.

look at how there seasons panned out, do you think there gloating about being better than united?

liverpool 2-1 manchester united & manchester united 1-4 liverpool vs manchester united premier league, league cup, world club champions and community shield holders.

know which i, and every other person on this planet would prefere.

hell even everton had a better season than you, they did it with half a squad out, least they made it to wembley and you dont hear them saying there better than everyone.
