I thought there was a Sasuke flashback where you could hear the words. Sasuke understood it even if he couldn't hear it because of his sharingan (aka pinkeye), same thing with Naruto citing a fake icha icha paradise-spoiler to beat kakashi (which was absolutely hilarious ofc XD ).
